Been out and done a tough 4K tonight. I graduated a week last Sunday and this is only my second run since. I’ve not been avoiding running, life (and turning 30!) has just got in the way.

I went on a new route tonight and introduced some hills to my run. It felt both awful and brilliant to do the hills but I’m so glad I’ve done them.

Another run or two and then I reckon I’ll get on to the plan.

Well done and happy birthday! 2 runs is better than zero runs! Hills will be good training for you and it's great that you have access to some. I would say that you might find it good to consolidate a little longer before doing the plan. I did for 2-3 weeks and suddenly felt I had progressed (you don't feel it for a while). 30 minutes 3 times a week is much more than you were doing a short while ago. If you start the plan, there is one that is based on time rather than distance so you could do that first and then move over to the other. (you'll get a badge for time!). Anyway well done you!

Thank you! That’s a good point about 30 minutes 3 times being a big increase, I’m just itching to progress. I think perhaps changing up my route might be the way to do that.

I’d planned to do the plan by time, and then when I get to the end of it restart from the appropriate week in terms of distance.

Yes you’ll see 30’ with new routes will be very enjoyable and you will progress, anyway sounds like you have a plan!

Well done NM! Yes hills are hard at the time but a good investment for the future.👍

Great effort old man 30! 'Tis but a distant memory. Enjoy those hills I'm still on gentle inclines about 0.5.
