Leg pain week before race!!!

Hi all, my first post in here but long time lurker. I am doing an 8k next weekend which is the longest I will have run before. Have been really looking forward to it, but have been struggling with some quite damning leg pain in my right side from my knee up into my right bum cheek.... I had a sports massage and have been doing a lot of stretching but it’s still here and I’m worried it’s going to stop me running at all, let alone this race next weekend. Anyone have any advice? It’s getting me really down after completing couch to 5k in August 😭

Hello

Is the pain in the front or back of the leg?

If it's your sciatic nerve there are stretches that will help, but a week isn't long. It could be your Itb band. Again there are specific stretches for that. I would Google both conditions, see which matches your problem, then Google the stretches for that condition. Someone might come along with a link if you're lucky, I'm not awake enough 😴 Please be careful, don't give yourself a long term injury for the sake of one run.
