and it was a great one!

Having failed in my attempt to get up early i went out in the evening, just as the sun was setting. Equipped with a torch so i could see where i was going in the dark i took to the park. The ground was surprisingly dry considering all the rain. A few hairy moments where i could not see the sudden dips but it all added to the fun...maybe i need a proper running torch?

It was one of those great runs where everything just worked and i enjoyed every minute...could happily of carried on but 5k was all i had time for. The long sleeve top gave just enough warmth, the winter clothes are effeminately back! Love runs like that - it motivates to do more!

Almost forgot how much i enjoy running in the dark, its been so long. Looking forward to tonight where i go for the long one around the beautifully lit Olympic park :-) my favorite place to run in the evening

Happy running everyone x

Sounds a great run to me, as does your next one. Not holding a torch will no doubt help... I’ve got to equip myself too thinking about it. I did manage to run in a long dark tunnel on the canal a few weeks ago by the phone’s torch, but it wasn’t ideal.

Enjoy the Olympic Park

i did consider putting the phone on too but then i would have had no hands free!

The tunnel sounds pretty spooky in the dark, knowing my luck i would miss a step and fall in the canal 🤣

I did scrape my shoulder on the wall a couple of times by keeping away from the edge... then once I got the torch on I saw the rail, but it would have been easy to fall through. Problem with that route now is it’s always gonna be an out and back... and I could extend it to at least 10 miles each way, but I’d look a proper weirdo running with a headtorch on at lunchtime 🤣. Maybe I could try the whole thing in the dark... just need a waterproof headtorch for when I get it wrong.

Could be refreshing if I only get it wrong on the way back
