I feel I have neglected my running family over the last couple of weeks, I usually report after every run but thought maybe not everyone wants to read about every single run & may roll their eyes when my name comes up AGAIN??!!! Ha ha ....but I have to tell you this...
I have been feeling good with my runs but a little bit disappointed with my distance & stamina...I think I’m still secretly missing the structure of the programme, I have been really tempted to start the whole programme again, just to prove to myself that I can actually complete it... but then I thought ‘What? Why? You know you can run for 30 minutes, you’ve done it loads!!! So I’ve just been tootling away and running for as long as I can, still enjoying it but wondering when & if this 5k is ever going to come...well yesterday I decided to join the parkrun again, I can’t remember the last time I joined in but I do remember that I didn’t really enjoy it...but I put that aside yesterday, pulled on my new lycra....I put a bit of lippy on like juju...laced up my trainers & crossed the road with a spring in my step....whilst they were making their announcements, I clapped along with everyone else at the appropriate moment coz I was at the back & couldn’t hear...set up my tech, waited for the legs in front of me to get going and followed on....in my own running world I was the only one there...my legs felt strong & I couldn’t believe I’d run 2k without feeling it...instead of thinking about how long the path was that I still had to run, I just ran...my legs felt strong, I FELT STRONG!! So I completed the parkrun 5k in 38 mins...a new PB...I was so happy, so I can actually do it, I just needed somewhere to prove it to myself & that was in my good old park...where all this first started...I am going to try do the park run every week to keep telling myself that I can do it...
So my advice to you if you are umming & arring about doing the park run for whatever reason...don’t think any more about it...just get them trainers fastened up & do it...you might get a pleasant surprise 💪🏻🏃🏻🏃🏼♀️

YAY!!! Go you MC - what a wonderful post to read!! I am SO bloody proud of you - you've kept on, in spite of everything, doing your thing, getting yourself in a position to do this!! And if you hadn't have posted your updates, we would never have known what you were going through, and been inspired by you, to through our own difficulties. The only with is up xx
Thanks Fishypieface ...that’s true...never thought of that!! At least we can share our strife on here too & how our running helps us through...I’m proud of you too & love reading your updates 😉
That's fab, well done to you. If you really want to do the C25K programme again you could run the walk bits slow and run the run bits faster. Quite a few people have done this. But as long as you're still running then that's all you have to do 🙂
Thanks Irishprincess ...I wondered if that was a good thing to do, I have done that a couple of times by picking out the odd run from the odd week....might do the whole thing like that 😉
Of course we want to read your run reports MummyCav! We worry about you when we don't hear from you😊..
What a brilliant acheivement yesterday, so pleased for you...and a great pb!
You have been doing exactly the right thing (easy to see that now😆), just taking your time to do lots of different length runs with no pressure. Longer warm ups, nice steady pace runs...
That 5k was in you, you just needed the right occasion to pull it out😉...a bit of lippy definitely helped😄....
Happy running and report as much as you like... 😊xxx
Thanks Bluebirdrunner ...I’d hate to think folk would get bored of me, I suppose they can always scroll past eh??!!! I like to keep posting on here because my friends then come back with inspiration & advice that help me next time out...for example ju-ju’s lippy! 😂
Well done lovely, that’s fantastic... you smashed the 5k and a PB..!! So chuffed for you 🤗
The only way I’d venture into a park run would be if I was safe in knowledge that a few kind souls would pick me up and carry me across the finish line 😂
I feel like you, not everyone wants to hear about every run. But they don't have a choice because I'm really proud and if I don't tell them it's not real 😂
I'm so glad you enjoyed your park run, I love them but have been too busy Saturdays to fit any in for a couple of weeks. I might have to just do one next week and put off my 10k run until the following week. 🏃♀️
That's a good bit of advice for all of us Bev, we all need encouragement. The park was your place to do it and it's reinforced your running routine and told you that you have it in you to do it. I've not run since end of Nov.... Yikes! 😣
If I wore lippy, I'd look like a right red blob after with dribble and perspiration everywhere and smudged lips haha 🤣🤣 xxx
Oh Mummycav , I love reading your reports - keep them coming! I have been meaning to try a Park Run, but I'll need to drive to get to mine & somehow I haven't made it yet... maybe I will make that my NY resolution... congrats on your PB too!
We don't get tired of hearing about your running! I was just thinking the same thing about myself, buy hey, I live with someone who takes absolutely no interest in my running and just grunts if I dare tell her how far I've managed on my latest outing, so I guess this is the place to do it, with like minded people who want to better themselves.
Well done you! Keep on running and keep us updated
MikeJones68 Aww Mike, you can tell me and all of us here how far you've run, jumped, hopped and walked, lol, we will ALWAYS listen to you and share your joy 😊
Oh no MikeJones68 ...that’s a bit disheartening but not everyone is interested in the same thing I suppose, the world would be a bit boring if we all liked he same thing....and the streets would be too crowded if everyone liked running!!! At least you have all of us on here who know EXACTLY where you’re coming from....😉🏃🏼♀️🏃🏻
I for one love seeing your name in the list of posts; your running story has always inspired me, the ups and the downs, and the inevitable triumphs because you are determined and committed. I love that about you.
And bloody well done on that new PB at Park Run. You are fab! Keep running my love, keep running. Stamina takes time and there is no hurry. Just keep getting out there and run regularly. And always run for the joys! Maybe mix it up with some other form of exercise. I have started strength training on my Wii Fit, and it’s great.
Thankyou so much Sadie-runs ...you are fab too & your posts always stay with me & the advice you give is priceless....All the advice we share is priceless...and helps to change our lives into running lives...I’m going to get my Wii-fit out & go through some of the exercises on there...see? Another great piece of priceless advice xxx
I love your posts! They inspired me such a lot when I was doing the programme. I sort of miss the structure of it too and have just been going out twice a week lately but still feeling pleased with how far I’ve come!
I did a Park Run with my daughter last spring pre C25K which was a bit silly! I can’t wait to do another one and see how much better I feel! I work Saturdays so don’t get to do them now!
