Edit: Congratulations to all October graduates once more. I’m closing this thread down now, so if you graduated in October you’ll need to claim your badge in the November thread.
Original: Hi,
Please comment below to claim your 60 minute or 10k badge if you reach these goals in October.
We will aim to have your badge awarded promptly, but please note it may take around 24 hours... sadly we don’t get paid for this and so have other things to do 🤣
Congratulations in advance to all of you for reaching your goal and good luck with your next running adventure.
That 60 minutes badge is quite new, of course I won't bother to ask for it as the longest run I have ran was the 73 minutes of my first 10k, I do have the graduate10 badge and the word GRADUATE10 next to my username, so I am not bothered about the 60 minutes one as I have never ran just for 60 minutes, nevertheless it would be great if I could run a 10K in 60 minutes 😊🏃
Yeah... it’s more for people following the timed version of the magic plan who are likely to end up at 60 minutes and not quite at 10k... unless they are particularly speedy of course. Only one badge will show as it happens so claiming 60 would lose you the 10k one.
The way you’re doing the combination of both could well come... just enjoy running and see what happens!
I do enjoy running UNM and I won't ask for 60 minutes because I love seeing GRADUATE10 next to my username.
I got rather sad news regarding a member of my walking club which I go to on a Thursday, he has been doing C25K for around 4 weeks, but I got a phone call from him today saying that at least for the moment he has to stop running because of severe pains in his legs, he can only walk but not run, I WAS going to run with him run 3 of week 5 but I will now have to wait until the pain has gone.
This is a couple of days late as I ran my first 10k on Saturday
Managed a time of 1 hour 10 mins which I was very pleased (and surprised) with as that is same pace as I typically run 5k in. This was a training run as doing my first proper 10k event later in October.
Overall happy with my progress having started C25K in Jan, getting to 5k by end of Mar, followed by a few months of consolidation and then starting on Ju-Ju's plan in August.
Congratulations and what a great time! Your progress from a January start is absolutely amazing. Enjoy that event when it comes, it shall be the celebration of the first 10 months of your journey. Until then, have a nice shiny Graduate10 badge. Happy running.
I have actually moved over to the 10K plan now but a cheeky little 60 minute graduate badge will put a smile on my face while I plod on for the next couple of weeks or so to get to the Magic 10
Thank you UNM, I would like to claim my 60 minute badge please. I am on week 6 of Juju plan and today I completed 9k in 1 hour 20 mins! I have been running 60 minutes on the long runs for some weeks now.
Appreciate it and thank you Admins, you all do an amazing job to keep us running!
I ran 10k for the first time last month in preparation for my first race this month 😬 this felt impossible when I completed C25K, I couldn’t imagine how I could get to 10k so feeling amazed that I’m there. Thanks for the help and encouragement 👍🏻
Congratulations! Like C25K itself, this is all about being able to do what was once impossible. Well done getting to 10k, and now you know you can do it you can relax and use that race as a celebration of your amazing journey so far, have a wonderful one.
Well done... are you claiming 60 minutes or 10k badge, or C25K graduate? The latter would need to be claimed on that forum healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Hi I graduated from C25k in June this year and have been running 3 times a week. I have found a new me I love running and feel I talk about it all the time!. Today I went out and have ran 10k in 1hr11 mins. Feeling really pleased with myself and now going out to treat myself to something nice.
Hi guys, I'd love my 10K badge please, I managed it this morning in 69:29 😀...went out for my 9K run this morning and got a little too tempted by the 10 so naughtily carried on going!
To be honest though it's been a really difficult week and I needed a win, the run this morning has really lifted my spirits. Running is awesome 🏃♀️🎉👍
And a great run it was too... what a family! I was in Pwllheli over the summer and told Siri to take me to Bangor... the route it came up with was crazy, luckily I didn’t end up at the ferry terminal! Anyway, I digress... that 10k badge suits you well. Congratulations again.
I did my first 10K on Saturday in the Bournemouth 10K Supersonic. My time was slow at 01:25:04 but I was thrilled to finish and to get my first medal as well. Never though I could be a runner but I am living it!!
Congratulations. Your time was anything but slow, it’s your PB! And it’s best not to set a PB too fast, we don’t want them too hard to beat! Great job and very worthy of your shiny new 10k grad badge.
Hi, wondering if I’m ready to graduate! Have now done 10K 3 times so starting to believe it. First time was due to getting lost and having to get home, second was to see if I could. At that point refocused on bit of stamina work and a few park runs (I’m very slow 😂). Yesterday went out planning to do 7k, but such lovely conditions (enjoying the cooler weather), so kept going. 74 minutes 41 seconds later Map My Walk announced 10K 😮 😃🥳
Not sure whether I’ll progress to 10 miles or HM, but this time last year I couldn’t run for a bus 😳🤣 It’s all thanks to this wonderful forum and the people I’ve met both here and in the flesh! Thank you 💕
Congratulations... you’re definitely a graduate here, and where you go next is something to think about. Consolidation now is the best thing to do, have a few weeks off the increase in workload. I’m a believer that you have to want to go to the bigger distances from here... maybe you will want to in a few weeks, maybe you’ll feel a HM calling you soon, or maybe you’ll never feel that pull to go further. All that matters is that you continue to enjoy yourself out there and being fit and healthy.
You’ve gone from not being able to run for the bus, to not needing to stop to wait for it! Great job... and nice badge you’ve got there!
10k done!!!! Super happy with this as it was a very hilly 10k in a ‘race’ setting up at Kielder, I’ve never ran with so many people before! Prob could have been faster but it was difficult overtaking but..... 64mins there abouts! Well happy with that! In fact that’s pretty amazing for me! HM training here I come.....
Wow... that’s some way to do your first 10k... and faster than my flat runs too! Fantastic job, many congratulations, and one very well earned 10k badge.
Enjoy that HM training... and all your future running adventures
I ran 10k for the first time on Tuesday with the single running buggy. It took me 1 hour 47 minutes but the first bit I did have my toddler with me on a balance bike. I think I can do it quicker. My first 10k 'event' (a virtual one) is on November 16th so I will be seeing if I can beat this time - I'll also be running without the buggy that day I think. All of this is a long winded way of saying please can I have my 10k graduate badge! 😁
Congratulations! Running it with a buggy and a toddler in tow is super impressive... I’ve been passed by buggy runners a few times now, don’t think I could do it.
Enjoy that one on the 16th... here’s your shine new grad badge.
Please can I have my 10k graduate badge? I completed my first 10k in 1h10’ this evening. I absolutely loved the Magic Plan (and found it easier than C25K). Next target, a sub 30 minute 5k and a general increase in speed. Thank you all xxx
Great run... very good time too. Many congratulations. Enjoy your next adventure there, you’re not far away from that next goal by the looks of it. Here’s a shiny new badge to spur you on.
Hi UNM. Monday before last I did my first 60 minute run. Was doing JUju’s plan week 5 - 8k and managed it in 58mins 15 secs. So I carried on to 60 minutes.
Can I have my badge please. Very proud of my self but still determined to get to the 10k mark.
Congratulations, not only completing the 60, but having some left at the end of your long run to go get it. Here’s your lovely 60 minute badge, I will look forward to seeing you swap it for that 10k one!
Well, you’ve certainly lived up to your username! Congratulations on that first 10k in 30 years, I’m sure there will be many more. Here’s a well earned 10k grad badge.
Hi Competed my 10 k in 76mins. Not a great time but so pleased that I managed to run for this length of time without stopping. If someone had asked me to run this distance last year I would have thought they were mad.
Congratulations. Of course it’s a great time, it’s your 10k PB and you never had one of those before! I wonder what you’ll have achieved in another year... this one has been huge. Well done all round.
Hi UNM. I've run 10k twice now. Once after the week 7 9k and again on week 8 just to check it wasn't a fluke. Surprised myself. Off for another 10k tomorrow. Terrified of stopping now.
Well, if you didn’t want it first time you can’t have it now 🤣
Just kidding... very well done (both times) and you can relax, it’s been too hot, too cold, too wet, too muddy, too humid, and that’s just the weather... you’ve probably run through much more... there’s no stopping you now! Many congratulations... here’s a shiny 10k grad badge to go with your job done grin.
Thank you and yes, I'm grinning. My 10k's were along Middlewood Way and Macclesfield Canal. Scenic and dry(ish) underfoot. Unlike the Parkrun where I must weigh more at the end because of the mud on board.
Ah... I’ve heard it’s a bit of a mud bath... but I didn’t know if that was just the Bramhall set not wanting to get their shoes dirty 🤣. I was at Marple in freezing rain, and was ok stood on my stone and under the trees, until the walk back when little miss needed my jacket on the walk back to the car, which was on the car park furthest from the finish of course, and I couldn’t take the direct route as the field was way too slippery... good memories though!
I’m pleased to say I’ve reached the 60 minute running mark. I started C25K at the end of April, never having run before. C25K and Ju Ju’s Magic Plan are fantastic. I never thought I’d become a runner and say I love running, but I think I’m hooked! I’d say to anyone starting out ‘you can definitely do this’ but listen to your body; do your warm ups and warm downs; always have at least one rest day in between runs (more if necessary); and get the best running shoes you can afford. It’s a very liberating feeling being a runner. I just wish I’d started years ago!
Congratulations! 6 months from the couch and running an hour... how impressive is that?! Be very proud of this achievement... here’s a shiny new graduate badge to go with your big “look what I did” grin.
A girl can dream.. or a girl can just go and do! You don’t need to dream... you’ve achieved the goal. I didn’t run my first (or second, third... tenth 10k in 60 minutes) and that’s really not what this is about. It may come in time, but 10k will remain 10k... that’s 6 and a bit miles, and while the average person can’t run a mile, THIS GIRL, to whom I’m proud to be able to give a badge, CAN run much much further... many congratulations.
First 10k done today on a beautiful sunny day in rural Oxfordshire. Finished the timed version of the magic plan last week with 60 mins and 8.5k but the magic 10k came today albeit definitely at sub-tortoise pace. Very pleased but now a few hours later everything aches a bit. Now more practice for the first 10k event in February.
Please sir, may I have my badge and thank you all so much for the wonderful advice and tips I have picked up so far.
The key to overtaking a tortoise is to get in close behind it and use the slipstream 🤣
The aches are your badge of honour... the badge I have the pleasure to bestow upon you is the symbol of that... it gets easier just like that 30 minute run did. Many congratulations.
Hi, I did my 10K yesterday and got absolutely soaked. Actually managed 11k then when I tried to use my phone I realised it was also soaked. I think is permanently damaged now 😬 Didn’t mind running in the rain too much apart from the odd car driving through puddles and showering me from head to toe in cold water and stepping in the odd cold puddle.
We don’t have an 11k badge I’m afraid. Those cold puddles, just like the voices in our heads that once said we couldn’t run 30 minutes, are there to test our resolve. They can’t win as long as we have determined runners like you who refuse to quit. Many congratulations.
As for those drivers... we’ll send the boys round to have a “quiet word.”
Dear Moderators, I did my 10km a year ago this month. I used to have a badge, but it seems to have disappeared. Please could I have another? Thank you (ps I've compleyed 10km and 10 miles)
Hello, I completed my first 10k on October 20th which took me 1 hour 19 mins then did my first race last night (in costume) and took 1 hour 8 mins. Very happy
