Whooops...I just ran for an hour!!

Friday is normally my long run day and I was really psyched up for it. However due to the weather being crap I decided to do it on the treadmill which slightly put me off as 44 minutes would get a bit tedious. I know...i though, I can pass the time by watching Tipping Point. I covered the timer with my towel as watching the clock seems to make time go really slow. Set the speed to 8km/hr (slow)...I know, but I’ve never run for that length of time before. Anyway after a while I thought that must be about 40 minutes by now so lifted my towel and to my amazement it was 56 minutes!!! I decided to carry on for another 4 minutes . So Ive actually done it. I’ve run for 60 minutes!!! I’m so pleased with myself. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Brilliant!🙂👍 Well done - the key to building up that endurance is dropping your pace a little (as you found out!!). Speed will increase over time!🙂

Well done Davo! First crack at longer distances needs to be a bit on the slow side; it does you the world of good for strength and stamina building without exploding your lungs and heart!! Sounds like a plan to me 😊👍👏

Congratulations to you Davo123 on running on the treadmill for 60 minutes, excellent, that could have been about 8K as you set it at 8K/hr, perhaps not just 10K yet, once again well done 😀 🏃.

Fab, well done Davo 👏

I'm not a treadmill runner but that's one thing the treadmill's got that the great outside hasn't...a pace button!

I try to slow down but even when I really consciously do it I'll find I'm not much slower than 6.50/7K, then I'm like "doh!". This is why I feel I'm gonna struggle with 9K next week...need to pick myself a treadmill up when I do my weekly shop 😉
