Gordon Bennett! That was REALLY difficult!!! Memo to self: don’t have a mug of tea an hour before running, unless you want to feel sick when running. 🤢
I am amazed that I managed to complete this. There are only six reps of the interval, but boy, was it a killer. I had to run to recover, not walk, which was cruel! My running companion is an accomplished runner, and it was a breeze for her! 🙄 However, she was fantastic at encouraging me, for which I was truly grateful.
Due to the nature of this podcast, I didn’t cover much ground, as it’s quite a short one, so I’ll have to wait until I’ve completed this month’s challenge before I do it again, as I need to rack up the miles. I’ll have to do the other two instead, as they last longer, thus allowing me to cover more distance. What a shame! 🤣

I have found any kind of interval training to be the pits. The first time I did it I thought I was going to die. Still can't say I like it but I have learnt (with much help from this forum) that I was pitching it too hard . Need to do more walking, more recovery and more pacing myself so that any interval is hard but short and protected by times when I return to feeling OK!
I abandoned that podcast. Couldn’t tell if it was unsuitable for me or I was unsuitable for it, but we were defo not well matched! Congratulations on finishing - I am awed. 👏🏼 I’m with Gwenlian1 on this - intervals yes, but not ones that kill.
A cup of strong coffee beforehand is good for a speedier run apparently but I’ve not tested that yet!
I doubt it was the tea that made you feel sick. If I run too fast in races I sometimes feel sick afterwards but walking and not stopping suddenly helps.
U r not the only one. I tried this not too long after graduation and just couldn't do it. Just couldn't seem to get the beat and trying to count and run etc... All at once 😱. Ohh and I was exhausted!! Only tried it It once. So well done u 😊 u did it 👍👍👍👌
I did run intervals to help me speed up, but I set my own pace. Dexy5 suggested JogRunSprint for IPhone. It gives timings ; 30 seconds jog; 20 seconds run: 10 seconds sprint. No music, no beat, just left to you to decide how quickly you want to run and how many repetitions you want to do. It helped me to speed up gradually. I am sure that the podcasts are just right for many people; just not for me.😊
Well done for trying it. I haven't tried that one yet but find the other two ok. If you want to increase the time try downloading the guardian advance running podcasts. They don't give you as much guidance on running style like the the c25+ does thought
Intervals are really hard but great all the same, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger 😆...and I totally agree about no hot drinks before a run, I only once had a coffee beforehand and after feeling it swilling around while I ran I've not made the same mistake again 😳👍
I’m a other JogRunSprint advocate MG, but I dislike intervals and don’t do them often enough. Oh flip, that reminds me .... it’s about time I did them again. 😩😩😩😅
So huuuuge well done persevering with the podcast. It sounds frankly horrendous, but you completed it - even with a cuppa on board! (I assume it stayed on board?) 😅
