Taylor Trot (Week 3: Run 2)

Wednesday has become my 10k plan’s 5k Run. I take both the dogs in harness, as I am also using the plan to get the Beagle up to full fitness again. I use the same nature reserve every week, but rather than run the same course, I take them adventuring: run the whole 5k then let them both off and walk back to the car. Today we ended up on a twisty turny path that is obviously regularly used by mountain bikers, complete with those little jumps they build. Which seems like it could be a recipe for disaster, but was actually quite fun. It was followed by a narrow path through tall ferns, which led us to a wider muddy trail, with plenty of puddles, that I dimly recognised. The dogs took advantage of the puddles to have a drink or three, and I took advantage of them drinking to figure out which way to go. I was tempted to get my phone out and look at MapMyFitness to see which way, but resisted it and still managed to choose the right direction, so we were very soon on trails that I definitely know.

I’m sure I’m not alone in composing my posts - including the titles - while I’m still out, so let me share with you today’s rejects:

The One Where Merlin Nearly Climbed a Tree

The One Where I Nearly Ended Up Up a Tree

Squirrels! (See previous titles)

Twisty Turny

Lovely post about you and the dogs. Hope you enjoyed your run and walk. One of the dogs is up on its back legs in the photo, did you notice. 😊😊🐕🐕

That Taylor, I couldn’t actually see them properly when I was taking it because of me being in the sun and them being in the shade, so I got her in the process of turning and running toward me - the one before it has her head turned towards me while her body is facing away 😁

That sounds lovely. Congrats on your run.

It was lovely.

10% is better than none 👍 I do generally forget most of what I planned to say by the time I get a chance to sit down and write it.
