I just want to post because I had such a good run this morning! Was up just before the sun, and headed out for the 5K run of week 2 of the magic plan - no plans to go fast really, but decided to try and do a fast first km. I slowed down for km 2 - but picked up again after that, and managed to keep up the pace the rest of the way - which resulted in me improving my 5K PB by more than a minute! Which for me is huge! I also managed a VO2 max point increase - and garmin is finally telling me that I am in the top 50% for my age and gender - so thats an extra win
Its runs like these that really make me think that my running goals are possible. I started with a 5K time of over 42 minutes, and now I am down to just over 35. So maybe the sub-30 is within the realm of possibility! And I definitely felt like I could have kept going - so I'm confident that (barring the IC - touch wood) Ill be able to make the 10K in no time! And then the 10 miles. And then the Half Marathon. And then who knows - anything is possible! (Not committing to a full marathon just yet though )
I also had my dog and my friends dog with me, and they were both so well behaved - I let them both run off the lead and they just trotted along the path nicely (one nearly ended up in the river but thankfully stopped when I called him!)
