Joint supplements

Hello all... I did my first 10k yesterday morning and was very proud of myself! But... my knees really ached this morning. I wondered if perhaps I should take some joint supplements ?? Does anyone else do this? Or should I just wait for my knees to get used to it? I’ve been running since the Spring and my knees don’t usually hurt at all.

Don't think it will do any harm taking joint supplements. What I've found that works is ibuprofen gel on the aching area 😊

I will, thank you!!!

Congratulations on your 10k. I’m no expert but I also hear that arnica gel is very good for aches and pains.

Thanks for that, it seems as though some type of pain relieving gel is the way to go!

Congratulations and very well done on your 1st 10K 🎉🏃‍♀️

Sorry to hear your knees weren't impressed with the run, I can't offer any specific advice about supplements but when I get a niggle or pain I usually Google stretches and strengthening exercises for that area and so far so good. That said, I'm only up to 6.5K so don't know how my knees will feel about 10K! Good luck with it 👍

That’s a good tip, thanks. I’ve never had knee trouble before so I reckon strengthening them may well help. Cheers!
