With the weekend looming and the temperature rising (nooooooooo!) for the Severn Bridge 10k on Sunday - itβs currently saying 27 degrees (π₯΅π₯΅π₯΅π₯΅), I thought Iβd pop up onto the common for a gentle leg stretch, incorporate some friendly hills and generally have a nice pootle with Flossie π
I did all those things, but one thing I didnβt plan on was falling down a hole. π³ Trotting along one moment, the next Iβm on the ground with my dog bouncing around wondering what on earth I was doing down there!
Theyβd been grass cutting, so whilst it looked lovely with more of the trails accessible again, the lying cut grass covered a multitude of sins, including pesky holes. π
I sat on the ground pondering (and hoping no one saw!) - I was lucky as there was no twist involved, just a thud at the top of my shin below my knee. Itβs a bit achy and Iβm sure Iβll have a bruise, but I was able to continue on - albeit slower than Iβd planned - and I was very careful picking my footing. I ended up doing 6k. It was a lovely morning and a lovely run.
Home now for breakfast, and frozen peas on my leg! π
Next stop a scorching 10k ..... Iβd better start hydrating now! πββοΈπ₯΅ βοΈ
