Hi all, some of you will know me off C25K but I'm new to Bridge to 10K. I graduated C25K around 6 weeks ago and after doing 5K and still feeling there was a little gas in the tank last week I thought it was time to stop procrastinating and started Juju's time plan. I'm having to not think ahead right now as the thought of 39 minutes or 44 seems possible but 50/55/60...yikes π³. I'll be fine πββοΈππ
Hi all...and yikes! π³: Hi all, some of you... - Bridge to 10K
Hi all...and yikes! π³
You most certainly will be fine. I graduated C25k in early May and used the plan to run my first 10k on 1st July.
I started off running the timed version. Once I could run for an hour (which turned out to be a distance of 8k), I then went back to the appropriate week of the plan for running that distance and started following the distance plan to get me to 10k.
Another four 10k runs later, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Good luck...
Youβll be good! No worries. No pressure, just lovely sessions with the boss. Youβll be fine with Ju-Ju πͺππ
Have fun π
Not to worry. Enjoy it at your own pace and the time seems to creep up naturally. π
Youβll 100% be fine! The only proviso is that you tell us nosey sorts all about your runs! πππ
You'll do fine π.
Welcome!
Congratulations on your c25k graduation and all the best for your onward running journey!ππ
congrats and very well done. I'm still consolidating using the podcasts with Laura but can I ask what or who is Ju Ju?? xx
Fantastic Ju ju She invented the 10k plan if you look over to the right at pinned posts you will find out all about it.
Good luck
Thanks and well done on your Graduation too ππ...and what Mumpark said. I saw that someone else had asked and been given the links. It's a printable plan to get to 60 mins or 10K. I emailed them to work and printed both off as I hope to get to 60 mins, then see how far I'm managing and pick up from that week on the 10K plan. Lol, looks so easy on a bit of paper π
Also new to bridge to 10K. What is juju please?
Well done and thanks for inspiring me! Iβm consolidating at the moment (second week of 5k runs every other day after graduating). Iβve printed off Ju Juβs plan but Iβm not quite ready to start. Iβll know when I am. I donβt have a special watch and Iβll miss Michael Johnson reliably informing me how long Iβve got left but if itβs anything like the amazing C25K plan, Iβm going to get on with it nicely. First pair of βproperβ running shoes purchased in the sale today - great reduction at a specialist running shop and a gait analysis - so Iβm good to go. Looking forward to following your progress! Literally!
At least you were brave enough to be on here to see my post...I accidentally joined by knocking a button a few weeks ago and thought nope, I'm not ready, I don't know if I want to run further and unjoined, didn't want the pressure π. I'm doing the time plan, then when I reach 60mins I'll see how far I've got and join the 10K plan from that week on! No pressure eh! But it's too late, we're hooked now and I've a feeling you won't be long behind me...when you're ready ππ
Also re: good job on getting the gait analysis and sale shoes, fab! I bought some Nike's last weekend and luckily before I took them out I jogged around the house and found my heel slipping. Didn't have half sizes in stock so returned them and couldn't get to a proper running shop for a week or two (work, life etc) so reviewed and looked for sales (still most expensive trainers I've bought) and have a pair of Brooks Ghost 11's coming in the post tomorrow! And you think I'm an inspiration π³π
Brooks Ghost 11 on my feet right now!!!! We are in tune! Off to test them out. Hope they are great! Size 8.5 and I was given a pair of Hilly light cushion shops as well, free of charge. Great shop. Great service. Like you, never spent so much on βtrainersβ so I see them as a huge investment π
Thatβs socks not shops!!!
You've not got the navy ones with orange trim too have you? Heck of a coincidence that, with all the hundreds of shoes out there π...good luck, hope they make you faster π€
Just got back and itβs like running with bags of marshmallows on my feet! No need to wear them around the house first. These are the business. I would have preferred the navy with orange trim but these are a dark pink with pink, white and green trim. Itβs the only pair they had in my size at a good price. I fell in love with the Ghost 12s I tried in a blackberry colour but they are the new ones and are full price at Β£120 so I couldnβt justify them with the others being such a bargain! But yes, theyβre just what theyβre hyped up to be. Bet youβre excited that yours are arriving tomorrow. Believe it or not I did run faster π
I liked the dark pink ones too, was umming and ahhing over which to get and decided on the navy...my son say's they've arrived so I'm really excited for my run tonight! πI've been getting a niggly hip bursa ache after running so I'm hoping I'll get the marshmallow treatment too. I was coveting the Ghost 12's in navy and green, really tempted but was put off by the Β£120 price tag, am thinking next year they'll be cheaper so that's my next pair sorted π. Glad yours made you speedy πββοΈ
It would be good if you can post a photo of them fresh out of the box! Iβve taken one of mine but havenβt worked out how to post it yet! Hope your run is as good as mine was last night. You are wise to have got the 11s not the 12s as theyβre a steal and as you say the 12s will be on sale next year, maybe even after Christmas. π enjoy!
Whoo-hoo! Welcome! π€ You'll love it π.. We are actually starting a new magic plan on the 26th August... But obviously you can start it whenever you like.
60 minutes might look daunting at the moment but π΅Don't worry about a thing, cause every little thing gonna be all right.πΆπ
Haha, thanks Clubver, I'll remember that π...I also know that 39 minutes used to seem ridiculous yet I'm ok with that one on Sunday and reckon I'll manage if I slow it right down so the hope is I'll be ready for 60 minutes by the time I get there ππ€
*Sorry, Clubber!!
