3 days, 3 very different runs

Monday is traditionally my "long" run, but for a combination of reasons, I just wasn't feeling it. I still managed a smidge over 5¾k in 40 mins, but wasn't really the distance or the pace I was looking for. Still, a run is a run.

Wednesday, felt much more positive. Nice evening, not too warm. Chose a new route and 80 minutes later, 10½k was in the bag. Might have done it slightly faster if it hadn't been for one 50m stretch that was so overgrown and tangled I had to walk to avoid the risk of turning an ankle or worse. Got home feeling much more upbeat than I had on Monday.

That's the second month in a row that my first run of the month has been a 10k. Do I sense a new tradition brewing?

Today, parkrun. I was on a mission. My previous best was 33:09 and I was determined I was going to go sub 33 minutes. 32 minutes and 46 seconds later, I crossed the finish. My new PB for 5k (although annoyingly Strava still thinks my 33:09 is my best, guess I need to knock another second off again next week and run a couple of more metres to make sure it registers).

So, three very different runs; the second two of them hugely positive, the first one not so much. Total distance run, just under 21.4k; proving you can still have a good week, even if one of your runs doesn't quite go to plan.

Well done on these. Sounds like a pretty good week of running to me.

Good parkrun time for you today, personally to avoid the agrivation you seem to get between your official Parkrun time and what it says on your own time like Strava I leave my own timer at home and go by the official result.

There was a post today about a competitor at a running event arguing just about that, according to her Strava time the distance finnished about 20 metres short of the official end, she argued with a official about that for a few minutes, of course losing her official time for the race, that's why I just leave my Smartphone at home.

Thanks. It's not that that's irky. It's that Strata has logged it as a 5k run, but not as my fastest 5k run even though it is by about 30 sec. I always accept the difference between parkrun timers and strata. Garmin recorded it as a PB. Parkrun registered it as a PB, but I probably need to run an extra couple of steps for Strata to recognise it.

I'm not really fussed, just would have been nice for Steak to record my achievement.
