I know my long run is always done at my Dad run pace 😂 I find I have to go back to basics a pace I’ll be able to keep up and finish and just concentrating on putting one foot in front of the other ☺️

An excellent description of the correct pacing and my approach to new distances 😊. Over time, if you want to, you will naturally increase pace, but long slower runs are absolutely the best thing for building up strength, your heart and new distances. As an old Dad, I have to Dad run anyway 👍👍👏👏

It’s the only way I can do it, I’d burn out so quickly if I tried a long run any differently, every now and again I catch myself enjoying it too! Hope it’s the same for you 😊
