Congratulations on completing 10K thatβs another achievement ππππ Iβve got 6 weeks of training left before I complete my 10K parkrun are great to π I run at my local one in Hyde Tameside π
I know my long run is always done at my Dad run pace π I find I have to go back to basics a pace Iβll be able to keep up and finish and just concentrating on putting one foot in front of the other βΊοΈ
An excellent description of the correct pacing and my approach to new distances π. Over time, if you want to, you will naturally increase pace, but long slower runs are absolutely the best thing for building up strength, your heart and new distances. As an old Dad, I have to Dad run anyway ππππ
Itβs the only way I can do it, Iβd burn out so quickly if I tried a long run any differently, every now and again I catch myself enjoying it too! Hope itβs the same for you π
Congratulations! Just being trying to put that map the right way up in my head and then realised that it already was π€£... sometimes I can be thicker than a whale omelette, but Iβm only a man! Didnβt realise you were relatively local to me.
You make a great point!! 6 months of three times a week gradually building and building, consolidation runs, sweat and tears and then it just happened ππ ... Thank you!! βΊοΈ
