Thank you Debston it went very well I went to the pink flag which is for slow joggers I should of gone to the blue really as there were people walking with dogs and prams lol I was fired up for it and it was one lap a 5k there was markers for 1k 2k 3k 4K and the finish line but I changed my running style and I totally smashed my time the wife timed me and my best was 35:26 and I got today 28:22 I couldnβt believe it and at the end I did a sprint at the finish line and it was a long sprint I felt great after it so I going to run my parkrun like today and hopefully smash it officially but it is a different park I run at Hyde Tameside and today Heaton Park ππππππ»ββοΈπππ

Congratulations Kev on running your first 5K Race for Life today, nice photo of you, yesterday I ran my first full 5k Parkrun at Dunfermline, it was my first but the parkruns fourth birthday, at the finishing line after the last person crossed it we all had a piece of birthday cake π. π
Thank you Alan I was a little bit knackered at the end but it was worth it. And well done to you Alan on your first parkrun hope you enjoyed your cake π and more importantly I hope you enjoyed your parkrun π
I did indeed Kev and congratulations on running a sub 30 minute 5k, that is a dream for me and many other people too, I just MIGHT get a sub 30 minute 5k on a treadmill, not sure about that.

Brilliant time! Well done. It feels like running at a special event does bring out our best performances.
Thank you π And yes it was the best run ever so far and an emotional one so I probably won't get a time like that again as it was a 1 lap not like I do parkrun which is 3 laps and hilly but so was race for life hilly so let's see how it goes on Saturday π
