Just a quick post to say thanks ju-ju- for her fab plan & also to Bluebirdrunner by way of Flaraflarkin post the other day :D

Shaved nearly 2 minutes off my park run PB today and I'm sure it's all down to the 10K plan putting miles in my legs, and the right attitude in my brain, together with the er butt squeezes ;) . I'd tried the butt squeeze thing previously but I'm not sure I really knew what I was trying to achieve so thanks @Flarafarkin for posting the other day. I googled & found this idea that helped me work out what I was supposed to do coachdebbieruns.com/activat...

There is a 600m sprint at the end of the park run route I do & usually I'm just trying to hang on until the end. But today I knew I had another 4K of running left in my legs (the gremlins couldn't tell me I couldn't do it as I managed this on Thursday :D ) so went for a sprint finish, together with the butt squeeze (!) I think this gave me the extra oomph I"ve been lacking.

Felt great afterwards and now my goal of getting around in under 30 minutes this year seems realistic.

Thanks everyone, this forum is fab

xx

Well done on your PB jeffbird, I agree that increasing distance makes stronger running legs, and finding that extra gear when engaging the glutes is a revelation!

The more times you practice the more natural it feels too..

Happy running :) xx

Yikes that's fast! Thanks for the link, I was trying it out on Saturday too, and I'm pretty sure it helped. Altogether now, squeeze 😬😬😬
