So to stave off the boredom of being on the Injury Couch this week, I've been idly looking out for races to sign up for and have just discovered that Bedgebury Pinetum (my local Parkrun venue) has a 10K & half marathon coming up in November. I think I've got to give it a go - 10k for me this year, next year maybe the HM?! That's cheered me up. nice-work.org.uk/races/Bedg...
Hmm, think I have to do this! 10K Race in No... - Bridge to 10K
Hmm, think I have to do this! 10K Race in November.
Go for it, Debs.
The route looks nice: google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewe...
Hope that hip is getting better.
That looks lovely.... go you! I spend money when I am on the IC... running stuff mainly I also tidy up my running gear...it makes me feel better !
What are we like!x
That looks great, I nearly signed up for a 10k in August in the UK and luckily checked my dates first and I will already be back in France. Ah well, another time.
Ooh, which one was it?
Greenwich Park are doing a 5k and a 10k in August (can't paste links in here from my phone). It's about 20 mins away from my parents and it would have forced me outside on my local hills (cos hills are all we got here).
I grew up walking through the park in the way to school, it would have been nice to revisit it a different way : )
Yes, I think you should definitely go for it. Having that date in your diary will really focus you on your training plan. And, having done one (and only one in my life!), I have to say it was the most incredible feeling. I actually think it's the best thing I've ever done - perhaps because there's absolutely no sadness in with it. When I've experienced amazing things musically, I've always felt sad because they were over or wondered whether I deserved to be there in the first place. In my race, I blooming well knew I belonged there and had worked for it and could go out and do it again and again and again.
Sign up now!
I have bitten the bullet and signed up for the 10k. Eeeeeek! 😂
