Well, I ran the 44 minutes. In fact, it was 45 because I find the Runkeeper alerts easier to use in multiples of five.
Was really NOT in the mood for the run at all, after a few weeks of very little sleep. It didn’t help that I had a cyclist nearly run me over. (Ever had that thing when you are walking towards someone and, to let each other pass, you simultaneously both step to the left, then both to the right? We had this with the difference that he was on wheels and moving very quickly towards whatever side of the path I chose. I had to dive to the side to avoid collision.)
The run was also enlivened by “Go vegan!” slogans chalked onto the path. And at one point I was followed by a friendly puppy who was full of life and wanted to play my exciting “running game”. It was nice to have some company for a few moments. For the rest of the time, it was just me and Prince.
After 45 minutes of grinding it out my distance was 6.76 km, which suggests I’m not TOO far off the distance plan I sort of wish I had followed.

It's a shame this morning's run was a grind but it's done 💪🏃♂️ lack of sleep is a rubbish feeling but hopefully now the weather is cooling, that may help
And you've only got the shorter runs left to do Result! 👐👐👐
Hmmm, I wonder if they were cheering on a particular vegan like "go Stephan" or whether they were encouraging you to become vegan. I guess we'll never know !
Sorry it was a grind it out run and that you had to play chicken with a cyclist 🐔, but it's done and dusted and that's a decent distance...
And you had a puppy and Prince, so it wasn't all bad, right ?
Well done on getting it done even if you didn't feel like it, I didn't have the best run today, 5k with tired legs!
I had a puppy join me on Sunday morning, his owner had taken him out while she thought no one was about, he was very pleased to see me, his training was work in progress she said!!
Well done. On that same run, 5 weeks ago, I ran 6.2k in 45 minutes, so you're ahead of where I was at that point.
I did the 10k W8R3 (in 1 hour 20) last night, so going time instead of distance on that particular long run didn't do me any harm.
See where you're at at 50 minutes next week and if 8k doesn't seem too much extra, maybe either push on, then follow the distance plan, or repeat this week, get to 7k then continue with distance version. I swapped from time to distance when I got to an hour and was running 8k.
Well done. Sometimes you just have to grind it out! Well done you for avoiding collision with cyclist, that sounds a bit hairy. If you are wishing you had gone for distance, why don't you just switch? You were so close to 7km and in just 45minutes! It took me well over an hour to do mine yesterday...
Sympathise with lack of sleep. I've been with daughter on hospital ward for 3 nights... and no running since Thursday last. Hoping to make Parkrun Sat and then just be a week behind.
