Graduated from C25k earlier in the year and then went off the boil with running, but am now trying to get back into it. Did 2nd Park Run on Saturday (typically chose hottest day of yearπ) and had to walk part of the final circuit as so hot but then finished in 41 mins - my first park run was 38 mins and a real struggle- wondering if any tips on motivation/stamina and also running shoes- my current are 12 year old Nikeβs!

My advice is to go to a dedicated independent running shop and get a gait analysis done. You will also be able to try on different shoes and find a pair with help from the shop assistant whom will be an experienced runner.
The secret to stamina is to just run more. Run 5K 3 times per week. Pick one of the runs and add a little extra distance to it, even just 500 meters per week. Keep Parkrunning as that is a great gauge to your progress. Also try a little interval training as that will improve your overall pace.

I agree with Damien. Gait analysis, new shoes and just go out three times a week and it will all come. ππ»ββοΈππ
