Its a run day, tis my birthday and I’m feeling lucky to be here to celebrate another one. Flippin freezing, but the sun is shining, chores done and I’m off. Usual track beside the railway line (yawns) but a little different because of thoughts of long awaited adventures beckoning. Its 4 years since I had the sad task of bringing my Mum and Dad’s ashes back to the UK where they and me were born, emigrating to NZ when I was 10. A promise of a pony, waiting in NZ, (like I had a choice to go) still waiting Mum? 🐴
Ashes scattered in the Lake District and the park opposite the house where my Mum was born and a promise I had made to Dad. His “Auld Country” is going to welcome him home very soon. He would have been back 2 years ago but positive test results and an urgent op meant two days prior to travel, the trip was cancelled. Two years ago, I couldn’t run 5k, never mind 10, so who’d have thought I’d be choosing accommodation near to parkruns 😂 I have 6 whole Saturdays in the UK to be a parkrun tourist and run alongside canals and through parks, thanks to reading all your vivid descriptions here I just can’t wait. The tailwalkers at Preston, Wilmslow and Enniskillen will have a new companion (you runners are so fast)
Missed 2 weeks of posts on here, no chance to catch up, don’t they disappear fast? Lovely, positive, you always do really well, descriptive post Oldfloss, good luck for Saturday. I did some more miles in the Strava run to the moon challenge, don’t think I’ll catch the leader on 690 miles 🤣 but thank you Bluedbirdrunner 💐 I am back on track even ran 4 days last week! Happy running everyone. X
