WHICH ONE?

My daughter has asked for an Activity Tracker Watch for her Birthday and I also am thinking about asking for one too, but which one to get?

Do you go for one with GPS or one which links to your phone?

Is one that monitors female health the best type for my daughter?

It seems a maze. Which one do you use and would you recommend it? If so why?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Hi I spent quite a bit of time researching and discovered a watch that could do everything I wanted was pretty much an Apple Watch and I didn’t want to spend that much myself. I’ve ended up going for a Lintelek, they start at about £25, mine records steps and heart rate, nothing too fancy but actually just the right entry level device and it syncs with my phone well.

I’ve got a Garmin 35 which links to your phone and would definitely recommend.

I wear it daily and monitors steps, running, women’s health, heart rate and links to your music. It all syncs to the Garmin connect app where you can see all the data.

Garmin do an activity tracker for young children. If your daughter is older I would recommend the Garmin Vivosport. It is waterproof and has GPS. It has a coloured touch screen face. It monitors steps, sleep, weight, calories, stress, heart rate, floors, female health and intensity/ exercise minutes. There are several activity tracking options on the watch and many more on the Garmin Connect mobile app. Music on your phone can be controlled on the watch. A good safety feature is the automatic Livetrack. When an activity is started you can track the person doing the activity in real time via a Garmin webpage.

I wear the Vivosport as my everyday tracker. For running I use the Garmin Forerunner 35. All the features of the Vivosport but a larger screen and push button controlled which is better when you are running.

Garmins are very popular with runners and offer a range of watches to suit most budgets and needs. I still have an old basic model (Garmin 10 Forerunner) with a gps and it gives me all the stats I need from a run. I purposefully DON'T have anything that monitors HR(!) or steps but that's my personal choice! Good luck! 😀

I have a Garmin Forerunner 235 and absolutely love it. I probably don't use all the functionality (though I keep adding things to my repertoire) but it does everything I need very simply and easily. :)

Garmin have just launched a couple of new watches, so there should be a glut of Forerunner 235s coming up on the second hand market for a good price. I’ve bought two second hand 235s recently and I love them. Best watch per £ for runners by far.

Garmin 35 👍🏽 Nicer design than the others. Cheaper. I seem to have less GPS issues with the 35 than my friends with the 235.

I have a fitbit charge 2 hr - links to my phone via app and does everything i need - tracks run via GPS, HR, steps, sleep & any other activity. I have had a fitbit for almost 2 years now, i have been running for less time but i find it does the job well :-) The face is not too large either and battery lasts 3-5 days

There is so much to chose from out there its really difficult, so good luck & hope you find something suitable!
