Went for a run Sunday, legs ached abit after but was fine later in the day and all Monday, then Tuesday night...bang my knees are killing. Any clues?

It's difficult to comment on so little information, and also because we are not medical professionals here 😊
There is such a thing as "delayed onset muscle soreness" - it's very common! Take a break from running if that makes you too sore. Take some painkillers and ice for the pain, have gentle walks to keep things moving. See a doctor if there's no improvement in a week or so.
