When I started running just over a year ago, I went to our local Sports Direct and bought shorts and tops. I think the shorts were about £9 each and the tops were 2 for £17. I treated myself to some proper running socks from Amazon - 5 pairs for £13 as I remember. I'm still wearing all the same stuff, and after 600km of running I look like I am sponsored by a clothing recycling centre.
Time for a change. Super new Salomon top, and a couple more from the Odlo outlet website. £100 quids worth of tops. I must be nuts, but hey, I'm worth it.

- 2 new pair of trail running socks - one pair of injinji toe socks, one pair of midcalf smartwool socks
- new Saucony trail shoes! Yippee!
I’m trying really hard to resist ordering some gaiters from dirty girl and a naked running band - oh my those sound risqué but I promise they’re not 😂. The gaiters are to help keep the crap out of my shoes while running the dusty dirty trails I’m running on dirtygirlgaiters.com/; the naked band is a type of run belt nakedsportsinnovations.com/... . It will replace my flip belt and allow me to carry my poles and has a spot to hold your bib number. My Salomon hydration vest has a pole holder but they’re not great for my z- collapsible poles. So far, I’m resisting but we’ll see what happens as my trail runs get longer once again 🤔
New trail shoes mmmmm. Bought my first pair of trail shoes last autumn and have done about 230km in them so far - 💕 Took 200km before they were truly, properly comfortable though. I guess they're a bit stiffer than road shoes.
😂😂😂! Brilliant! 🤩 I succumbed long before the clocking up of mileage as part of my declaration of the new running me! Bought 3 pairs of shoes, though not high end. I’ve not got a Garmin either, but I’m running. That’s pretty great! Enjoy the new running gear!! 👌🏽❤️
Ooh I can always find a good reason Granspeed. The last time it was “ I spend so much time in running gear that I am not spending so much on normal clothing “
I’m resisting the lure as i’m skint. I need new shoes but fortunately I have a pair stashed away 😎. Still boxed and currently hiding behind my bedroom curtain. I need new trail capris too but ....🤷♀️😤.
I have tons of stuff already so a stock take before buying new will have to happen. I pulled out a gorgeous cycling top last week which i’d forgotten about. Fine for trails as it has three stash pockets at the back.
I succumbed to gait analysis and new Hoka shoes after my 10k race. Purely to sort out the niggle in my right knee you understand 😂 As for shirts, I now have 2 race shirts (a Lincoln 10k finisher’s one and one for the inaugural Bergerac 10k which was cancelled by the Mayor the night before “a cause de la securite”) Race entry is cheaper than a technical shirt 😃😃
My Salomon hydration vest after a particularly dry and dusty run. Unfortunately it hasn’t stopped raining since I bought it - sorry, yes, it’s my fault!!
When I completed the C25K I splurged on Brookes running shoes which I love, just about to start the magic plan so I’m pleased to have a good pair of boots to carry me to 10k!
Please don't get me started on this one. I've got stuff for every occasion, I even think some of my tops would pass at a wedding ceremony. The only thing where I stop (I wear NBA jerseys and training tops, occasionally football ones) is price. I will find good stuff on eBay, still originals, and would never fork out for some of them, no matter how much they mean to me. It's hard to stop, I know....
