Under the knife again.

Hello folks, I hope you are well. Not been on here for a while but thought I'd have a little write while I'm waiting to have surgery again. I've been off work since October 2018 due to an operation on my left shoulder. The accident was done at work when i was on duty as a firefighter. 90% tear through rotator cuff and bicep tendon tear and all screwed back in place. 6 weeks 24 hours a day in a sling and thought I'd made a pretty good recovery but the end range of movement and weakness and some pain was still there. Had another MRI and it seems like one of the screws is unwinding so I'm back today to go under the knife again. At times it feels like you have no control over your life and things spiral down deeper and deeper. Really miss my running so incredibly much and I now feel that all the weeks of hard work and effort on C25K was all for nothing. Really gutted to be honest. So sorry for the long post but going under the knife now. God Bless you all and see you on the other side x

All the best Carlos. Hopefully you will be able to return to running at some stage even if it means starting c25k all over again.

I'm so sorry to hear of your struggles Carlosbrown. Take care, focus on taking care of yourself. When the time is right, you will be back running again, taking it slow and steady. You will get back to where you were before all this happened. Many people repeat C25k after having to take a longer break and many found they enjoyed it even more the second time, knowing what to expect without the worries of "Can I do it?" because you know you've already did it once.

Hope things went ok for you today? Here's hoping that this surgery will improve things for you at last and that you can get your life back to normal and pick up your running again. Keep the faith - you will be back out there!👍

Hopefully this will have a great result.

And it's not all for nothing, I redid the whole programme after injury, and I was surprised how much easier it was than the first time.

You won't lose all your fitness.

Take care, recover well, and keep us posted 🤗
