It was our monthly tourist Parkrun today so Pianism , RunaroundSue and Mr RS, UnfitNoMore and little miss UNM met up at the start. It was warm and dry but there was a slightly threatening rain feel. A nice flat course in a park apparently populated by Pokemon. We all ran our own race, dodging other runners, dogs, ponies, and for those who can see them no doubt Pokemon (I've never spotted one yet!) I was hot on the heels of Mr RS til he zoomed off in to the distance, then had a chat with UNM when he appeared beside me, until he zoomed off in to the distance. I didn't really push the pace but forgot to start Runkeeper so had no idea what my pace was. Eventually I remembered to press start on Runkeeper and realised I was pretty fast for me. I knocked 6 seconds off my PB and managed a sprint finish. It's easy to see where the finish is in this course. It seems I have one pace. Or 2 if you say I've one for the flat and a slower one uphill. Not sure how a PB happens without pushing it? Flatter course? Quicker getting over the start line could be it as there were less people than at Bramhall last Sat.
It held off raining until we'd finished running and I'd eaten my chocolate brownie. Hope your bacon butties didn't get wet though Sue!
I did a run earlier this week with a friend who came to stay, and then today with my lovely VRBs so am feeling blessed. Helps me to keep going when I actually feel like sitting on the couch π and reading a book or having a snooze π΄

A brilliant VRB parkrun Baddie. Pianismβs tourism spreadsheet is coming along nicely - another one ticked off.
Congratulations on your PB too. I was 1st in my age group but overtaken by a young over 70 year old man before the line. He said he was getting revenge as I overtook him last week. Love these friendly rivalries. ππββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Thanks to the VRB team. It was a lovely parkrun, although I am told that it can get muddy in the winter - but we are used to that at Marple. It would have been nice to stay and look around the park but we had to get home and shower in time for our performance at Stockport Beer Festival. That went well, we are going back later to watch a ska band.
Oh yes, it did rain a bit harder but my bacon buttie was fine.
I ran away from the rain then went home for a shower. Not sure it's entirely logical. Skins waterproof either way πGlad beer fest was fun. Was the band Lazlo Baby?
No, it was Baked A la Ska. We have seen some of the band before, in various combinations, but it was the first time we have seen the whole band in one place. They did an amazing ska performance of The Model - very different to the Stockport Ukulele Players version.
Thatβs fab! Today we had cow hearders on our track π but they were sensible and sat under the shade of a tree looking at us as if we were fools... they might have had a point....
Was great to run with you guys again... and I didnβt kick too far ahead, the head wanted to but the legs wanted to slow again quite soon! Some confusion from me later as new Garmin didnβt give me a PB for 5k... finish line came at 3.05 miles and I walked to 3.1, obviously I managed to stop it dead on 4.99 km, bet I couldnβt do that again if I tried π€£
Sorry we didnβt stay for coffee and a chat, little Miss had somewhere else to be, I remember when it was me with the social life, so we had to get going. Sheβs now falling asleep, so she should be great for her Bubble Rush run tomorrow π
We are running next Saturday, not sure where yet. Have a great week everyone and we will probably see you in Cheadle Hulme for the next 5Pβs
Good photo BaddieThePirate, not sure exactly who they all are, I think Junior Miss UNM and UNM are second and third from the left and RunaroundSue is far right. Could you confirm?
Shame I missed this run. I ran at Cheltenham-1st time I've had a warning about swans on the course. Over 600 runners so a slow start but a reasonable time for me.
