The forecast was overcast, but it’s a beautiful sunny morning. I put my new Lee-oh-pard legs on and off I went. I usually drop a contact lense in just before getting out of the car, but today it was so uncomfortable I took it straight out again. Half of it came out and I spent ages trying to get the other bit out, not actually knowing if it was still in there but eye was v uncomfy. It came out just before we set off.
I tried to take a photo while running which is why it’s fuzzy. It was v impressive, such a big crowd of runners. It’s a beautiful park and a nice Parkrun. Forgot to put Runkeeper on so no idea of my time til PR results come in. Spotted UnfitNoMore and miss UNM coming in after me so backtracked and ran the last bit with them. Miss UNM put some speed on for the last 200mtrs and I couldn’t keep up! She’s just earned herself a t-shirt. 👍
Of course, we went to the cafe.
Wythenshaw next week folks 😀
Now I’m off to have a quick explore of the park while I’m here and to watch the ducklings 🦆🐥

Looks like a good turnout and it sounds like you enjoyed yourself! Was car parking OK? I remember Bramhall Park from my youth but can't for the life of me remember the amount of parking spaces.
I don't know the area so found the entry gate which wasn't accessible for cars, drove up the hill, parked on the kerb first spot that wasn't double yellows and slowly ran down the hill for a warm up. I don't know where everyone else parked, but there was plenty more room on the street I was on. Where did the Kats run today?
The kittens were a bit all over the place yesterday Baddie. Eldest kitten went on a resentful run with Katnap in the evening after spending the morning helping youngest kitten out with his first ever paper round so they could get to PR in time to volunteer. Youngest kitten has foot issues again so he decided not to run. It is teenagers, big time, at the moment!
I am seriously looking forward to running up and down the local hill lots of times tomorrow morning 😬
It was lovely to have your company again today. I’ve walked and tailwalked this one before, and I’ve trained on the course, so it was great to finally run the whole thing... and surprised myself by only being 15 seconds slower than on the flat at Sale. That 10k work must have done wonders for me.
Wythenshaw is somewhere I’ve not been for years, so looking forward to that one. At the moment little Miss is saying that she’s coming, but we have a bubble run the day after so I won’t be surprised if she opts for a lie in next Saturday instead.
Today I achieved my aim of not getting lapped... though as the first two finishers were sub 18 minutes, it must have been close! I was surprised that after my run and taking a shortcut back to pick little Miss up again my legs had some sprint left in them when she went for it.
There is a great google chrome extension for Parkrun which you can get on your PC. As a way of promoting Parkrun tourism there are loads of different challenges. One challenge is the NENDY. NENDY stands for Nearest Event Not Done Yet. So when you do the nearest Parkrun which you have not yet done, it populates with a new venue. There is also Parkrun bingo, alphabet challenge and loads more. Do a search on google and download it.
I so feel for you with the contact lens issue Baddie. This time of year my eyes react to pollen and I just couldn’t wait to get mine out when I got home. I’m blind as a bat so can’t run without them.
What a lovely run you had and turning to join miss UNM is great too.. these youngsters certainly know how to sprint!
One of the nearest to me but I've not done that one yet... it's on the plan, as you know. Looking forward to Wythenshawe... might get away with a coffee afterwards too.
Let me know when you're doing Sale, I might do it again. I'd like to do Macclesfield soon too as it was the first one I ever did and I'd like to see what time I get a year later...
My local! I live in Bramhall but Parkrun in Wilmslow. I hear Bramhall is hilly and a bit busy. Did you find that? Do need to be brave and give it a go one week.
Hi Glossy, isn't it weird, I didn't really see it as very hilly but someone else said it was. Yes, we started off uphill, and there was another place where I though 'right, shorten your stride', but the hills were over quickly. Yes it was busy, but it was beautiful and a lovely place to run. We'll be back there next time it comes up on Pianism 's spreadsheet. iangoughmusic-my.sharepoint... See you there June next year? We'll also be doing Wilmslow in May next year. Or let us know when you're heading to Marple PR.
