Treadmill day, and I figured I’d go for the 10.25 mile run on my plan. Little miss UNM did her 2.5k and then went for a tour of the gym and got into my happy rhythm at about the same point, I was loving it, it was easy... 5k came dead on schedule which is unusual for me, 4 miles seemed to follow it very quickly (it didn’t, just seemed to)
All was well, then bang, clunk, horrible screeching sounds and I was soon in the presence of the gym staff... hit the big red button and had to abort at 4.47 miles. Sadly the 5 other treadmills were in use and so my 10 will have to wait, and this one can be my 4.25 for the week.
UNM 1 Treadmill 0 🤣. I think I’ll just get this one done outdoors on Thursday/Friday

Sure it is, i’ve done a lot of treadmill running because i spent a load of money buying one for ex who used it once, outside is my choice of running and treadmill got sold because Willow kept falling over it in the night
I’m normally outdoors, just having to use a treadmill when my daughter is with me on long run days... I think she should up her milage and run with me 🤣
I know... shocking! The good thing is we can always swap our runs around... it’s not the first time I’ve had to. I try to get the long run done early in the week just in case.
My treadmill PB was 5 minutes until recently, did my first hour on it last week... it’s not so bad when you have the moving scenery on it... or sky TV 🤣
No mirror in front of the one I was on, which is good as I can’t see myself, but also meant any of that scenery was lacking too! When I had to use the gym as a kid I’d make sure I was on the second row of treadmills and behind something pleasing on the eye... now I have TV 🤣
Not too long now if not already that a treadmill could simulate a parkrun, wearing 3D glasses, a runner on a treadmill machine could choose which parkrun they were at, for example, if a hill came the machine would do the same as if you were running up that hill, interesting prospect.
Not long now until your first half marathon on the 3rd November, I hope you are feeling nice and relaxed just now and doing several runs in preparation for it.
You broke the treadmill...that must have been some run 😳😅, luckily a quick switcheroo in your head and you're ready for the next one! Good luck in the beautiful outdoors 👍
Sounds like someone was trying to tell you something - to get outside to the fresh air!😁. I still can’t bring myself to get on to one of those contraptions! Maybe come February when it’s -25... 🥶
I managed to run all last winter in shorts and T-shirt... here’s hoping for another mild one. Running with my daughter is becoming difficult in the week now with the dying of the light, soon a gym will be the only option for her really.
Oh flippin eck UnfitNoMore ...that’s just pants! Maybe it’s the great outdoors interfering with the treadmill telling you that the best place to run is outside?! I am SURE, your run will be much more enjoyable outside...and you’ll have done some extra mileage in the process!
