I finally got out for a run yesterday evening. I was hoping for a 10km, but to be honest was too lazy. Still, it’s pretty good compared to this time last year when I just sat on the couch.
I’m finding it so difficult at the mo to go and run. Talking about falling off the wagon, I’m tempted to jump off it. I used to think ‘shall I go for a run today’ and find myself in my running gear and ready to go. Now I have to spend hours cajoling myself. The only thing keeping me going is I’ve been talking relatives in to doing Parkrun in June at a big get together, so I HAVE to do it, and have to keep practicing til then (I don’t want to be last), and the post Parkrun breakfasts with VRBs.
So here’s to breakfast tomorrow. I’m planning on going to Bramhall. Expect to see UnfitNoMore and miss UNM there. Anyone else going to Bramhall?
Photo is if the drifts of ‘fluff’ from the trees 🌳. There was so much it looked like snow. I didn’t listen to anything on this run, I just tried to be ‘mindful’ and notice things around me. A couple of detours from the usual route mixed it up a bit and added a little hill at the end 😬

Sorry, we are going to Marple tomorrow as we won't have time to socialise afterwards. Hope you have a good run and hope to see you soon. Wythenshawe next week?
You can do it!! Sorry to hear about your struggles In my limited experience the best antidote is to set yourself a goal which you know you can do, and do it. A year ago, recovering from bursitis, I really doubted myself and didn’t think I’d make it past the 100 yard mark, so I challenged myself to repeat W5R3. I did it, with ease, I was chuffed! So I repeated W6R3, easy, done, then the full 30 minutes, just to prove to myself I could still do it.
I was considering a parkrun tomorrow, Lyme actually, but after today’s 10-and-a-bit k, I may need a rest, as my calf muscles are feeling it. If I do, and decide to try Bramhall, I’ll drop you a message!
Wyrhenshaw next week with RunaroundSue , Pianism , possibly UnfitNoMore and who knows who else. Bursitis is SO painful and sleep depriving, hope it's totally gone?
I think I’m going to give today a miss, feeling quite achy this morning, and I can’t make next Saturday I’m afraid, but after that, who knows?! Hope Bramhall goes ok
Sometimes getting out of the door is the hardest part - so well done on running despite those gremlins. Here's to that next 10k...just waiting around the corner for you!🙂
Think back to when you started running Baddie. Can you ever imagine saying you’d be ‘just’ running 5k? Very well done getting out, and I love the fluff! How bizarre! 😍
Hang in there Baddie - just happened upon your post whilst getting ready to go to the gym today - I’ve not been running much either recently due to injury and it is easy to lose the enthusiasm. But I’m doing the vitality 10 on Monday and am so glad I booked it in or I may not be out there at all at the moment. It definitely helps telling people as well I think because then you are acknowledging it and can have accountability- I hope you do parkrun today and feel glorious after and it reignites the spark. Good luck 😊😊
Well done baddie! With help from really kind VRBs I have just given myself a firm kick up the backside and taken the next step towards doing a park run...buying the wrist band! One small step!!
Why it should seem like such a big deal, running with other people I mean, I have no idea....but just like getting started on C25k, I now know I have to do it; more importantly I want to. So hope today went really well and you feel inspired to do loads more😊☠️
Parkrun was lovely. I'll post in a bit... You'll enjoy it once you do it I'm sure. Parkrun tourism is fun to do too. I'm wondering round Bramhall Park now. Would never have discovered it without Parkrun.
No turning back now...Sandie made it impossible for me to keep chickening out!! I have thrown off the effect of last week’s long journey so no excuses really. Must find one with a cafe though!!😊
Targeting next available Saturday! Off on holiday soon to the lovely Isles of Scilly... lots of hills and beautiful surroundings..will be good training. Glad this morning gave you a buzz😊
