W1 r1 of 5k to 10k

Hey!

I must start taking pictures of my surroundings on runs. Screenshots of my stats just don't quite do it anymore :/ I just read Oldfloss's recent post, the one with the ABBA lyrics "thank you for the running....", and she had some lovely pictures at the top. I wish I lived nearer to the sea 😐

Moving swiftly on. So this morning was my first run of the 5k to 10k scheme. The scheme is 10 weeks long, and today was a 20-minute jog only. On Wednesday I'll be doing some 'tempo' running, and next week there's some running as-fast-as-I-can. It all sounds a bit daunting at the moment, but hopefully, I'll be ready for it when it comes around.

I'm happy with how it went today It wasn't the 17 degrees it's going to be later today, but wasn't chilly either. You'll see I jogged for 3.74k in the 20 minutes I was given - whether or not I could have gone on to do 5k or kept that pace feels highly unlikely - I think the 10k last week has just taken it out of me and a 20-minute run is the most I'm capable of this morning.

As I said in my last post, this morning I had to simultaneously run my 5k to 10k app and my run tracker, so I could get updates on what my pace was and be told when to stop running. It wasn't that much of an inconvenience in all honesty, but I'm looking forward to the days when I know what my pace is without needing reminders!

You're all fantastic. I hope you're enjoying running in the warmer weather as much as I am. The brighter mornings are great, that's for sure.

Pics of running routes are always appreciated, as we live all over the place.
