Hello lovely running fiends šŸ‘¹

Quick Q for knowledgeable Garmin users. Any idea why Garmin Connect would have logged my outdoor run this morning as a ā€œtreadmill runā€? I have changed my settings (not have I ever run on a treadmill in my life!)

Baffled. šŸ¤Ŗ

Not a problem I've ever had with mine. Did it definitely register GPS before you started to run? Is it showing in both Garmin and Strava as treadmill? I have called Garmin support a couple of times and they are very helpful if you don't get an answer here.

Morning Sadie, Garmin Connect should only log activities according to the settings on your watch.

It could be youā€™ve inadvertently changed your settings at some point?

If youā€™ve changed the settings back, all should be OK now šŸ˜Š

If the error was Strava..check you didn't inadvertently click, treadmill on Run type..I did it yesterday and kept getting Race!

Itā€™s easy to nudge onto indoor run by accident on the watch. When you press the run button, up arrow picks activity and itā€™s an option.

Thanks everyone, for your helpful replies! I have a niggling feeling that I didn't turn the GPS on before I started my runā€¦was a bit preoccupied this morning. Could it have been that? Would not turning on GPS mean that it assumes you are doing an indoor run? Doh! xxx

How strange! My Garmin did exactly the same thing yesterday evening.. I thought it must have been something that I did, but now I am not so sure!

Same! I am pretty sure I did not fiddle with anything since my last run... just cannot remember if I actually turned on GPS though, as was half asleep when I went out on my run this morning. (Sleep running, LOL!)

On my Garmin there is an option for running and treadmill ... and indoor running. Maybe you started the wrong option?! I shifted the treadmill and indoor option to the end of my list because I don't do them often.

I had that recently, it hadn't fully connected to the GPS before I set off or at any point during the run so thought I was indoor. It logged miles and pace but had no map.

I'm now more careful to make sure it connects fully before I start running

You can amend it in connect or Strava to show as a normal run but you probably won't get a map.

Not what you're looking for?
