Hi everyone, I've always enjoyed reading everyone's posts about their running experiences and challenges and thought it was about time I posted π
I have just completed my first 10k in Newport and have got to say, if you're thinking of signing up, get on and do it! The best thing I ever did was start the C25k back in mid January. Its not about speed, don't let others put you off and go at your own pace. It's addictive, I've got my first half marathon the end of June, I'm 43 this year and never run a step in my life before January. It's achievable πππͺ

Well done Becky! I did my first proper 10k at the weekend too. How did you find it? I loved the experience and honestly finished thinking that I could actually run further!!! I know that probably is probably just an indication that I didn't run fast enough but I seriously think a half is within my reach now!! Good for you for signing up to one. How is the training going? Are you following a particular plan?
I loved it and felt the same as you, I think I could have gone another few km.
I'm not following any particular plan, just the support of my local running club an gym is pushing me on, I'm currently running 15-19 miles a week. It's hard going but I'm addicted.
I look back at January when I struggled to manage a minute and just completed 10k in 1 hour 13 no stopping. I'm not worried about being slow, I would never make the distance if I rushed. It's definitely achievable, if you sign up, you a goal to work too, go for it! ππ
Wow! Have you done this since January this year?! That's amazing! Ive been running just over a year, starting c25k in march 2018 and just tsken it steady. It is very addictive though!
Yes January 20th 2019 was my week 1 run 1, there's been lots of aches, pains and naughty words along the way but I'm doing it and still doing it π and I sometimes say I love it lol
I was pretty pleased with myself and celebrated by booking a spot in the Swansea half the end of June, I may well be pushing my luck but I'll enjoy trying π€
