I've just run 5k! Can hardly believe it! On January 1st I was frightened of running for sixty seconds! Have blogged about it here welshhillsagain.blogspot.co...
Couldn't have done it without these forums and the support they give!
Thanks so much

Itβs a fact, you will get hooked! Saturdays arenβt Saturdays without them. πββοΈππββοΈππββοΈππββοΈππββοΈ
It is a great area (might be biased here). And the Bodelwyydan course is beautiful. Yes, do shout if you are in North Wales and I might look into Conwy too if I can keep going!
This morning I was definitely up for another. Tonight I am so tired (perhaps not helped by sharing a celebratory bottle). But have my next run/crawl in the diary!
Totally see that, although that first five minutes when I was practically knocked over in the rush didn't seem great! Think next time I might start right at the back!
Fantastic! I think the whole parkrun experience is improved by volunteering so talk to your run director next Saturday or contact them by email during the week. It is possible to volunteer AND run! π
Well done!! Iβve just done my 4th parkrun on holiday in CapeTown yesterday. They were all zooming past me but, what the heck, I got round without walking!
Hi, well done on a massive achievement. I did my first on Christmas day last year and came in 345th out of 349. Mad as a hatter. I have not repeated that since. I am currently repeating the couch25K and am at week 6 run 3. I did nothing in February (bad weather and over-commitment to work) and am now getting back into it.
I'm impressed with having the determination to get back to it. I sort of feel that one reason to keep going is how hard it would be to start from scratch again!
Hi - it started with the excuse late January / early February that there was ice on the footpaths. We do not have a running machine at home. After that, I moved hotel at work then got tired in the evenings................................ suddenly, it was four weeks since I ran. I am finding it just as hard as first time around to keep up the couch25K but I am committed not to lose the sharpness of mind I have had since starting the run, and going on the diet.
