On Thursday I set out to do, on my rehab schedule, w3r1 of c25k. During the 5 minute warm-up walk a text came through from my daughter who'd just left on a long journey that morning so I wanted to read the text. After that I couldn't get my sound to work, either the c25k app (which now doesn't have its own music), or my music. So I decided to wing it and just run intervals, counted on my Garmin. I did more than the app would have called for, 4 runs of 3 minutes each with a short walk in between. That's the most I've run in 7 weeks, would you believe?
Anyway, there was only minor twinging in my knee so I was happy. A couple of runners at work have said 'don't push it too fast' but the temptation to just go out and run is really strong! π
I guess I'll be sensible and stick to the c25k schedule in order to avoid further injury. Frustrating. The 10k event I'd entered is next weekend and I'll be at home wishing I was there! π

It is so hard to hold back when you just want to go but taking it slow and steady is important to not end up back on the IC. Take care, enjoy getting back out there and before you know it, you'll be back on track.
True - although as a similar thing happened last year (I had to pull out of a 10k event due to a injury) I'm thinking that sticking to 5k might be my best option. I consider myself lucky even to run 5k - not yet but I'll get there again π
