Didn’t get out for a run yesterday what with one thing and another, so this morning I went for a quick 4k to test drive the new Hokas. Wonderful - like running on cushions, no stones poking through the bottom, no knee niggle. I saw a buzzard drifting in the thermals, heard a woodpecker in the wood, frightened a rabbit sitting among the vines and a small deer ran across in front of me. Mind you I had to work for it. My normal elevation is about 12m on my 5k route at home, here 53m in 4k and nearly all in the second half. Happy running πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ πŸƒπŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ‡«πŸ‡·

Sounds idyllic Sandie. I always find runs after a long journey a bit tough, so maybe good to take it easy. Just enough to keep calories used and wine consumed in balance....so runs will need to get longer as the holiday progresses!!

😊😊 Allez les escargots 🐌🐌🐌 (not that you are one!!)

Oh dear, I think I’d have to run a marathon to work off the french food and wine! But every little helps.

The vines are just starting to shoot, so are that lovely fresh pale green colour. Thankfully the ground is firm, unlike last year, when we were ankle deep in mud!

What a beautiful scene and it must be great to have all the wildlife around as you run, I spend most of my runs dodging cars.
