I have just suffered another month of calf troubles, yet again. I think I am now over it, and I have come to the conclusion that most of the injuries I have sustained have been caused by running tense and pushing myself. I must admit it has taken me a long time to actually reach this conclusion...
I ran 6.7K earlier today, ran relaxed, didn't push it and I was hardly any slower that I had been previously and as an added bonus I enjoyed the run more and I wasn't out of breath.
So my lesson is to stop chasing a faster KM time, 5 - 10 seconds here or there makes absolutely no difference at all in the long run.
Cheers
