There is a park run only 12 minutes drive from me. Just as well! π¬ Last night I got everything ready although not totally convinced I would go. So I rolled out of bed looonnngggg after the alarm went off, ate half a bowl of porridge with eyes half shut, and somehow got my gear on. Drove over, and a brisk walk from car to start point was my warm up π³. Well, how good is park run! What a brilliant way of doing the 5k run. I didn't push too hard, because it was my first park run since recovering from the lurgy that hit me in March. I walked up the really steep slope out of the underpass, and walked up part of the hill on the second lap, and my finish time was only 15s slower than when I ran all the way round! And I also had time to chat to a lovely park runner who kept ending up running alongside me. Hope I bump into her again (not literally). Home and making coffee by 10am. Fabπ

Glad you enjoyed your first 5k Parkrun today, yes, you meet very nice people at parkruns on a Saturday morning.
Yay π well done ππ» lovely parkrun... took me ages to pluck up the courage for my first one and now Iβm hooked. I bought the same βquietβ socks as you have and they are so comfy so thanks for that πππ
I have just seen this Bridget!! So you are hooked! How many Parkruns have you clocked up now? Well done you! And happy running to you! ππ»ββοΈπ
I am π I have done 6 now and I have had a PB for every one ... last Saturday I shaved 43 seconds off the previous Saturday! I was still slow π but 3 minutes faster than my first one ππ I never knew I was so competitive π only with myself tho I donβt mind that other people are so much speedier π how is your hamstring I hope it is nearly back to normal π€
Ooh! 6 Parkruns! Wow! PBs every time, wow again! Congratulations to you!

Hamstring still not 100%, but improving. Thank you for asking. I actually encouraged myself to write a runniversary post, which included a hamstring update, even though I was not exactly celebrating as I couldn't run on my runniversary.
Happy running to you! πππ»ββοΈ
Fantastic. Well done on your first Parkrun. Itβs healthy, free, addictive and an amazing way to make new friends and engage with the community from all ages and all backgrounds. I love it.

What a lovely run you had today. This parkrun malarkey is a bit addictive- Saturday mornings will never be the same. π
Glad you enjoyed parkrun - my Saturday morning wouldn't be complete without it π
Sounds like a fabulous first for you. π
And there we have the story of yet another parkrun convert! πππ
Well done GOG, itβs fantastic isnβt it? Sounds like yours is very close to your house, and that definitely helps. Thatβs your Saturday mornings sorted! Try volunteering some time too - itβs almost as much fun as running itself. ππββοΈππ
It's close, cheeky, but it's also a bit too uneven for my liking (it's the old dodgy ankle) but I was feeling brave since the scan turned up nothing too nasty π I've done a much flatter one before but it's further away. Really pleased because me and my ankle seem to have enjoyed the experience π
So pleased that you had such a good time, thank you for writing about it. πππ»ββοΈπ Happy running to you!
