You know what.. only thing that came to my mind after finishing my first ever 10k?

It was Bryan Adams

"Here I am this is me

There's no where else on earth I'd rather be

Here I am it's just me and you

Tonight we make our dreams come true

It's a new world it's a new start

It's alive with the beating of young hearts

It's a new day it's a new plan

I've been waiting for you

Here I am "

Finally after almost 4 month of starting running, fighting illness, laziness, workload and some other hurdles.. today I achieved biggest in my life.. a 10k.. may sound childish to others but I am/was really a lazy bum outside my office.. weekend was always sleeping eating whole day.. and much worse habits..so achieving 10k is the biggest ever achievement of my life.. I don't have much word to describe my feelings..

Thanks to everyone out here for motivation, suggestions and everything.

Getting bit emotional.. but it's ok.

Congratulations to you 'jrunner' on running your first 10K, nice quote from the song by Bryan Adams.

I know Glasgow quite well, it looks to me from that Runkeeper map that you began your run in Partick near the cricket ground and ended it in Victoria Park near Scotstoun, I passed those places earlier today, once again congratulations on completing your first 10K today.

Thanks.

You are spot on regarding map.

First time after finishing my run I stayed in park and enjoyed the feeling and surrounding. Normally I continue my run till back home. Today decided to finish run in park itself and enjoy there after that.

Victoria Park is a beautiful place, I now live in Cumbernauld but when I was a little boy many moons ago my aunt who lived in nearby Scotstoun took me to the pond in the park to feed the πŸ¦† ducks.

Today I passed near there on the train on my way back from Helensburgh where I reran run 1 of week 3 along the promenade just to check out that my legs were still in running order, they are, that is the same place that I ran my graduation run last year.

All the best..

Never doubt yourself, you can do it. I set 10k completion target until mid may but I achieved it before a month. You can do it.

Hi Jrunner, that is an inspiring post. I think I felt that way on 5th January having run 5km six months after being diagnosed T2D (now gone) and 12 months after a third heart operation to correct angina and tachycardia. Well done to you, and may we all have that feeling at least once in our running regime. I started and failed bridge210K in January, but am now repeating couch25K to get me back up to fitness again. It's as easy to fall off as it is to stay on.

You are much bigger inspiration for we people. Somewhere I feel we all have some sort of reason to start running, that may be anything. And when I read such words like yours it's very very motivational.

Thanks again and wishing you very good health. Happy Running!!
