Something happened

I started the C25K last September and graduated in December. Every run was excruciating. Now I’ve done about 50 runs in all including 4 Parkruns and they’ve all been a struggle.

Then, 2 days ago, it all came relatively easy with my legs carrying me and my breathing refreshing me to run 20 minutes before I started to fade for the last 20 minutes. And it happened again today.

To anyone who asked me why I was running I’d say “I’m going to keep running until I stop hating it”.

After 6 months I think that time has come. Roll on the next Parkrun.

Yes it's a bit of a revelation when you realise 'I'm enjoying this'! Happy running 😀

Hey, we started and finished C25K at the same times. I've done 31 runs since December and the legs still seem weak and protesting, especially after being ill. I've still not completed the Park Run route on my own; I think I dislike the repetition of running laps. Sounds as if I could get to a point of greater comfort, if I push on! Thanks for sharing your experience. Nice to know it's not plain sailing for everyone!

I'm really with you here, HF. I did the C25K at about the same time as you, and have done 3 park runs. I diligently run three times every week, but still can't really say I enjoy it. I'm still waiting for the endorphins to kick in, and to feel I could run for ever. I'm hoping my experience will echo yours now! Well done for your persistence.
