Well after taking a month off and running on Friday my legs had finally recovered. My aim was to run Sunday but I still had heavy calf’s so decided to not go. Was working Monday so it was my normal routine finish work then hit the gym. Decided to finish my workout with a nice relaxed jacuzzi session (it lossened them calf’s) anyway it was the same Tuesday but just a upper body workout saving the legs for the run πŸ˜‚. Any way it was run day slam went jump out of bed get my running gear on and have a pint of water and a banana (it’s my strange routine) after 30mins or so it was on the bike 10min warm up just to get the legs moving. I then made my way to my run. I wasn’t sure what I was going for distance or time I would decide that once I was at a steady pace. After 2 miles I decided it was distance. I had taken a energy drink with me so after I hit 5 miles I had that. I had added a different start point from Fridays run so was not 100% sure how far the run would be. I was thinking around 9ish miles but was shocked when I got to a point where I normally run to and know it’s just over 2 miles I had hit 5. I had slowed my pace down almost walking when it came slight hills. I was now at maybe my easiest point as I was back to the beach but with the rain it had made that more difficult with the ground being soft and boggy. By now my legs were killing but I knew that if I could just just hang in there I would be on the home straight. Last half mile my legs were almost giving up on me but I kept telling myself self no pain no gain and as I crossed my imaginary finish line I stopped my garmin and had the shock of my life I had just ran for 11 miles. I had smashed my pb and 17.78 k smashing fridays pb by 5k I think. With the biggest grin on my face it was just one last challenge left the walk up the hill home. I

Wow! What an amazing run! I’m thinking that I need to be brave and change my route as I have a long run coming up... that could be the break my routine needs if I want to go further!
