My run yesterday was one of the special ones! It was cold and blowy (very!) and the trails were strewn with twigs and branches...and er, oh a couple of trees to clamber over too!๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜€ Puddles aplenty and a lots of squelchy muddy paths. Up to part of the old railway line where I have not run for a while, the bridleways quiet except for the odd dog-walker and back home later, 10k done and with a huge smile on my face! Not every run feels like this (there have been a few tough ones recently) but this one reminded me why I run ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธโ˜บ๏ธ.

Great post. Running is such a good way of helping us to find a happy space.

Hope you are still smiling ๐Ÿ˜

Perfect.... a lovely run and a lovely distance:)

You got a workout too... avoiding twigs and branches and a spot of clambering! Glad that you are feeling the joy again... it is what it's all about xxx

Great to hear you're finding happy runs. It's frustrating coming back from time out, and it takes an extra effort to recognise the good things. It's a very good sign ๐Ÿ™‚

I think so, Linda - it all seems to be feeling a lot easier again!๐Ÿ™‚

Sounds wonderful but more like an assault or Tough Mudder course!! Well done for clambering over the trees and jumping over the twigs and branches :)

Yes, climbing over fallen trees does not help you if you want a speedy time but today was just about enjoying it!๐Ÿ™‚

A lovely post Sandra. Yes, itโ€™s good to remember why we run sometimes. Not all runs can be beautiful, sunny and calm. But the fact we can still get out there and run is so special. โค๏ธ

Yours sounded amazing. Huge kudos to you for clocking up 10k in this wind! Iโ€™m just back from a warm hols where I ran a few times in beautiful conditions and Iโ€™m planning my next run for tomorrow. Itโ€™ll be a culture shock for sure, but Iโ€™ll remember your words and I know Iโ€™ll enjoy it. It wonโ€™t be 10k though! ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Funnily enough, I seem to run well on these blowy gusty days ( as long as I don't have to struggle into a headwind - nowthat is tough!). The heat really saps the energy from me during the summe.
