I’ve not posted for a few weeks but I’m still hovering in a “sort of injured” state.
The good news is I can still run. Distances up to 8k are fine (10k on a good day). The bad news is I can’t get further without my knee exploding in pain. Of course once you can’t do something it naturally becomes the thing you want to do most of all 😀
Physio continues and strengthening is the main focus (various squats, resistance band exercises etc.). Can’t complain really as an injury you’re allowed to run on is rather fortunate all things considered, but I’m hoping I’ll see some improvement in a month or so.
First 10k race booked for June. As things stand I’ll make it round but would be nice if I could run the whole way.

A very upbeat post Tony. 😀 I bet it’s frustrating having the underlying injury, but you seem on top of it, and the fact you can still run is definitely a positive. 👍
Keep up with the exercises and you’ll smash your race in June. 👊🏃♂️👊🏃♂️👊
Thanks. When I did C25K at the start of last year I read all the posts that said you needed to cross train on non running days. And when I came on this forum I saw similar posts.
I carried on just running and didn’t really get into a routine of strength training. So I can’t really get too despondent because it’s not as if I wasn’t warned.
Injuries have stopped me running this past 10 days or so and indeed it just makes me want to do it all the more. So well done for training with the band, I went swimming instead. Good luck for the 10k mark 🧐🤪👣👣
