I made it into the South London Press and onto the local paper, the Stoke Association did a press release about my running their 10K approximately on the one year anniversary of my stroke. I have even raised them a few quid so far for my efforts. I picked up a virus and ended up back in A&E a couple of weeks ago which has hampered things a bit but will be there on the day 👍
What a great story and quite a year you’ve got ahead of you. Take in everything on event day and how far you have come (and then tell us all about it!).
Well done Cliff, a fabulous way to mark a very tough year! I will be taking part in my local resolution run in a couple of weeks, in memory of my dad who didn't survive his stroke and a 16yr old family friend who is in rehab following a brain aneurysm and corrective surgery.
Stroke can affect anyone from any age group & can be devastating. As a survivor it is wonderful to see you so determined to make the most of your recovery! 👍
What an amazing story. Thankyou for posting that, I was feeling pretty good but am feeling great now. Good luck with the run ( and your wedding!) Quite inspirational,
Thanks for the kind words folks. First ‘long’ run out in my new hydration vest today so training is going well and it was a scorcher so was glad of the extra water.
