Just a quick post to say that my granddaughter came out of hospital yesterday, she still has an infection but will take antibiotics for a month, a grand total of 18 pills a day in all. Swollen and sore, but everything seems to be healing well and we’re all very relieved. I am now house, cats (4) sitting and dog sitting for my stepdaughter for a few days while she and her family are having a few days break and her house is 5 minutes up the road from my grandaughter and near the beach. 😀 I thought I might be able to run up with the dog, but he doesn’t like traffic and pulls on his lead. He’s a 7 month old Huntaway which is a NZ sheepdog breed, so he’s very strong and I don’t fancy being dragged by him, but I forgive him he’s yummy. I have done my 9k and 4k of week 6 of ju-ju’s plan already, so I’ll just repeat the week when I get home. I had also entered the February 25 miles challenge and will have to run like the clappers to catch up, but I really want my first bling, (so glad I didn’t pick the 50 mile one.) Have a happy running week everyone. 😎
Not running related.: Just a quick post to say... - Bridge to 10K
Not running related.
Glad that your granddaughter is on the mend lexi6. Scary episode to put it mildly! I am with you on the dog running thing! Our Old English is far too powerful to have her running alongside me on a lead. Her recall is good (finally after 6 years of effort!) so she is always off lead on the beach and she will trot along with me....until she sees something more interesting like another person to be tapped up for food or cuddles, another dog or a dead seal or bird! Dog walk; run.....two separate things in my case. Others manage though..depends on the dog really.🏃🐶
Thanks Beachcomber, I brought some treats and my clicker with me, because he can’t be let off lead either, so we’re off to the fenced dog park tomorrow for a little runabout first and a little training session. I caught him sitting on the couch with my cellphone in his mouth earlier tonight he’s only 7 months old so hard work. I love Old English, swoon.
Yes, Molly has a real fan club...my wife calls her my babe magnet because she makes a bee-line for young women on the beach; she knows where to get cuddles. She crunched up a cell phone as a pup so you were probably lucky!
Hello Lexi, so glad to hear that your granddaughter is now back at home and improving. It’s great that you are there to support them all.
What a menagerie you are living in now. That pup looks so gorgeous but may need a bit of running practice before you try one of the waist band leashes! 😂
Keep a little time for you and your running. 🏃♀️
Morning Lexi,
Great news your granddaughter is home & healing well!
I bet you’ll appreciate your running more than ever when you get back out there!
Big love 💛
Wonderful news about your granddaughter Lexi. ❤️ Enjoy looking after the creatures, and it’s good it’s close to your granddaughter too. You know running will still be there for you. Shame the dog isn’t a fan, but then again you don’t want to be dragged or tripped!
Enjoy the 25 mile challenge! I think I’d like to join that for March (what do you have to do to join?) I want to start my bling collection too! 🏅🏅
Thanks Cheeky. I went on to the race at your pace site. You get a compression top even if you don’t complete the distance and the top and bling if you do. I’d done 60k in January in only 3 weeks, so hopefully I can do 25 miles this month 😎
Glad she's doing well 😊
Sounds like you still have a lot on your plate.
Good luck with week 6, I was meant/intending to start week 7 with a 9k run this am, but only got 2 hours sleep, so plans all shunted along. I will probably only manage 2 runs this week.
Life gets in the way sometimes.
Thanks Jell and two runs in your weather conditions is amazing, I’m an insomniac, so appreciate what the lack of sleep does. Here’s hoping for some more zzzzzzs for you.
The dog is pooped and has just put himself to bed, lets hope he sleeps all night.
Great to hear your granddaughter is mending - best wishes for all that healing going smoothly now. 😄 Enjoy that menagerie! 😃
Fab news Lexi (fab name as it’s my youngest granddaughters name who lives in Oz) sounds like you have your hands full one way or another!! Happy runnings👍🏻
Thanks Oldlady, Oz is a long way away. Hope you’ll soon be planning your next trip to see her.
Meant to be there now but moving house on Friday. She’s now 6 months. Thankfully there coming over in Aug this year👍🏻
Glad she’s on the mend lexi 👍
Really glad to hear your granddaughter is out of hospital Lexi. Getting back to running will be a rest by comparison with dog-sitting!
I’m so glad your granddaughter is on the mend! What a handsome dog! He is gorgeous I bet he gets away with anything with those puppy dog eyes 🥺 and he looks intelligent so will learn quickly.
Oh Lexi that such good news that she’s home and on the mend 😊. Must be such a relief for you all. And I can’t imagine how you have fitted in running too with everything that’s been happening. Will call you SuperLexi from now on I think 🦸♀️. And your photo got me. That’s one gorgeous bundle of energy and mischief ❤️
Thanks Wimborne. She will be back at school part time next week, so I’ll be picking her up and driving her home until she gets her strength back. Think I may have to just content myself with shorter runs once I get home. I’m only a kilometre away from 10k, but might need a rest first! Iggy is exhausting, more like pooped rather than super Lexi at the moment🙂
