Kept checking the website and Facebook page to see if Lincoln parkrun was cancelled today. I kind of hoped it would be to put an end to my procrastination, but in the end I donned 3 tops, 2 bottoms, bobble hat and gloves and defrosted the car! A light covering of snow and snowflakes fluttering down but ‘only’ -1.5c. With the Course Director’s words ringing in our ears - “You lot must be mad”, “You run at your own risk”, “I don’t expect any PBs unless you’re a first timer”, “Sub 20 isn’t safe in these conditions” (Oh well that’s OK then 🤣😂), off we went. It wasn’t actually as bad as I had feared, although getting a bit slippery on the 3rd lap. Parkrun website is down, so no official time yet, but Strava time 34:52, which isn’t too shabby. I was boiling by the end though 🥵Oh, and I bought my first pair of size 12 jeans in over 10 years yesterday. Happy day 😃😃 Stay warm and stay safe VRBs 🏃♀️🏃🏻♂️🏃♀️🏃🏻♂️
Results now in - 230th out of 267 (usually 450-500 runners) and 7th/12 in my age group!

Fantastic that you were able to get out and do parkrun Sandie. I just had 2 tops and 1 leggings so I didn’t get hot enough to want to discard anything. Maybe I wasn’t putting enough into it. 😂
We got our result email but can’t get into the website to see how everyone else did.
Thanks Dexy. Well done to you for getting out there as well!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 If somebody had said to me a year ago that I’d go running in snow, I’d have thought they’d gone totally nuts 😂😂
Well that’s a good excuse not to do a sub 20 then! I was considering doing Marple but it was cancelled. You did well to get out there early enough for Parkrun. Well done!
