Nervous of the ice but went out anyway!

I'm a risk averse individual (having psoriatic arthritis & a compromised immune system can do that to a person), so I really wasn't keen on setting out this morning, but I hadn't run since Monday night & so thought 'what's the worst that can happen? If it's too slippy, I'll just walk home' & off I went. I'm completely exhausted - mentally from the concentration required & physically from the baby steps I was taking much of the time (shortening my stride seemed like a sensible way to stay upright!). Apart from stopping to wait for the traffic a couple of times, I just kept going & am really quite proud of myself for sticking it out & doing my furthest run yet. When I graduated on 30th Dec I decided I wasn't ready to commit to the 10k plan, but seem to have got to 7km through sheer bloody mindedness to not give in to the disease or the voices in my head saying an arthritic 49 year old can't do it!

Well done... but I have to say... any ice and I am happy to admit... like many of us I don't run..just not worth the risk.. Glad you were okay.

Well done Fit2Sing - looks pretty slippy there! Good pace too for those conditions, but take care 😀

To be fair, the picture makes it look much worse than it was. I'm too lazy to clear my driveway & the actual pavements weren't that bad most of the way round! 🙂

Very brave of you to venture out, glad you are ok. I’ve not run at all for a week due to the weather, wouldn’t risk it.
