2nd 10k race in the bag!

Runninginsingapore profile image

This time was better and easier! I took 3 minutes off my last race time, and I got to run with my beautiful daughter. She did speed off for her last km, but then she is 17...

It was easier because I knew what to expect, and better as it was a less crowded run.

I tried the energy gel for the first time too... not so keen on the taste or texture but the caffeine hit was immediate... generally I don’t have tea or coffee so any caffeine has an impact!

Next steps... 15km training to be completed by April, courtesy of Nike Run Club App and a look through the Singapore running pages for our next 10k. Yes, our next race... my daughter wants to do it again!

Just checked the temperature in Singapore +27C, where I am in Central Scotland its - 3C. Glad you enjoyed your run with your daughter, you must be used to running in the heat, last summer we had a temperature of +33C and that was no joke to run in. Enjoy your training for the 15K in April.

Thank you! I do do most of my runs on a treadmill and save being outside for events! It was hot so lots of water breaks. -3... too cold! I don’t know that I could run in that 😬

I do not run in - 3C either. 😊

Well done RIS and mini RIS! Fantastic run and how lovely to do it together. I’m definitely envious of your warm temps. It’s mighty chilly here this morning and I’ll need multiple layers to start my run. 🥶

Oh wow! Congratulations. What a wonderful picture.

I'd love to get one of my teens out with me.I'm just having to be contented to think that I am laying down good habits by example.

I watched my mum gardening all through my childhood and barely picked up a trowel.Later in life I trained in Horticulture and worked as a gardener, so I guess influence can be subliminal.....

Go beautiful powerful women!

Thank you! I’ve been running for nearly a year now, and my daughter started last October, so it took a while for her to join me. The best thing is that my Husband has started on the c25k program too, so hopefully there will be 3 of us running together soon. I just need to persuade my youngest but she’s pretty adamant that she hates running!
