This was my first run of the New Year and it went pretty well, considering. Cold, about 4 degrees, so I had hat, buff and gloves on and the only thing I discarded was the buff. Stayed largely to the road, at least to start with, as I had horrible vertigo yesterday and I thought, if it comes back I'll phone my husband to come and get me. I was fine though, and ventured along the river and the canal path later in the run.
I did 5k in what my Garmin told me was my best time since October 20th (it's been a sluggish winter for me 😄) - just over 36 minutes. I'm happy with that for today. Aiming to build back up to 10k well before an event which I've entered in May. Might get out again on Saturday 😄

Well done Joy, a lovely result when you were feeling uncertain how you would feel. I did 5k today too, with gloves, hat and buff and enjoyed a good run with no expectation. Only took off the gloves though😊
I think I know which 10k you are entering and wish you good luck building up your distance in the next couple of months!
Brrrr, well done...it was a cold one...I’m just heading out this morning and I think it’s a cold one again...haven’t so much as stuck my nose out of the door yet!
Mine is purple too, a fine stripe in a very fine wool (I find wool a bit scratchy but this is not, it's an actual Buff that I bought in France a couple of years ago when skiing). However I have a fleece 'neck gaiter' that I wear when skiing! Confusing 😗
Thanks IP! Yes, I've watched the cygnets grow up with their parents all year (their nest was on the opposite bank). Now they are the same size as the parents, mostly white but still with flecks of brown on their feathers. Running through the seasons is just great! 😀
