In the hot weather a couple of weeks ago I dehydrated on my long run! I knew I should have purchased a hydration vest earlier in the summer when they had been mentioned. I bought one with the little bottles which was fine but they kept bothering me coming in and out if view, so I went and bought a water bladder to go in the back of the vest, after sorting out how things work it’s still a fiddle, but I moaned like mad on Friday when I arrived back home at the weight on my back as I’d filled it, which I felt really slowed me down especially when I didn’t need most of it! Today though for my 5k it was worth all the weight training with the water bladder- free as a bird no water weight ran my fastest 5k at 35.17 and 4 of the 5k were under 6minutes - well chuffed.
Now I just need to get my mileage on to LEJOG04 I’m having a few gremlin problems I’ve ran about 24 miles so I’ll soon be leaping out of Lands End I’m sure!

Congratulations Over62 on your 5k pb. I think the running vests just take a bit of time getting used to . I had a belt that held 2 bottles but it just used to jump up and down and was really annoying. So ordered a hydration vest from amazon and it hold 2 soft water bottles.
Hope you get your mileage sorted and once again well done on your 5k👏👏🥳🥳
