Had not yet posted about my 2 runs during this week. Did a 5K on Tuesday, which did not go really well. I was feeling tired and without energy after a day of desk jobbing and the run felt really heavy. But I did it and that's what counts.
I was expecting more of the same on Thursday, but much to my surprise it went a whole lot better. I actually threw in some fartleks and was very close to a PB. Unfortunately I ended just past 40 minutes (40:35), which is more than a minute more than my PB (which I ran during a 10K). Normally I am near 45 minutes, taking it slow, but with them fartleks, my average time was faster.
In the meanwhile, my running vest with pockets and such came in. But unfortunately I have had to send it back to the shop. I had measured myself well, but alas the size the sizing table predicted for me was too tight and uncomfortable. So I have send it back and am now waiting for the shop to say they refunded me in shopping credit, so I can order the size larger. More waiting for me...
Is this online shopping? I don’t know if it’s the same for women but getting the right size in mens seems hit and miss. Luckily my wife runs so anything I get on the small size, I give her first dibs. She has a nice dayglo yellow running top I ordered for myself while I still have to mind the twilight hours and those foggy mornings.
Well done on getting 2 runs in. 🏃♀️Your time was good on your 2nd 5 km . Couple of days never got out in morning walk absolutely chucking down in rain so have invested in a waterproof running jacket Salomon more expensive than I would spend so hopefully will help. Have got a waterproof baseball hat as well. Will get out tomorrow and Sunday no matter what the weather. Online orders come really quick. Is your vest for carrying water and gels etc?
Yes, it won't hold back any rain. But it will carry more water for me than my hip bag. I find I need more water than my lil flask of 125 ml on a 10K...
