Lovely discussion last year started by ju-ju. Have we learnt our lesson or is Sadieruns going to be 😱 at us again?

In a fit of enthusiasm last year I downloaded the Marie Kondo audio book and quickly discovered I couldn't bear it. She's so smug! Contrary to the rest of my house (think creative genius?), my running drawer is in fact very neat and tidy, although stuffed to the gills, so I have recently decanted the smaller items into some lovely little 1930's wartime filing drawers. The socks are in a drawer labelled 'Radar' and the smalls are in one labelled 'Antennae'. I'd always intended to sand them down and repaint them in a nice pleasing sage green but the labels do make me laugh so I haven't yet done it...

In reply to Sadieruns I forgot to mention that I am also responsible for clutter in the garage too I have the cabin trunk, (lovely brass corners etc) we came with when we emigrated to New Zealand. Inside it has hangers and drawers, just had a thought it might become my running wardrobe. So therefore not clutter! 😂

I surprised myself when I thought of using it as a wardrobe, it was going to be a coffee table with storage. This is way more useful and with all the original labels still stuck on, bring back wonderful memories of my Mum. Win win. 💕

I suspect Juju has been secretly clearing up, as I’ve seen at least one photo of a very tidy weights basket! 😁

As Sadieruns sadly declined our invitations to come over, even I’ve had to tidy a bit... Just about to cycle bags of delayed summer clothing up to the advanced chaos of our attic and bring down more winter stuff. (One way to reduce actual house chaos!😃)

But, ermmm, as for my running stuff, it’s growing (I blame the online January sales!) and seems to have now developed multiple new chaotic homes for itself around our house... I like to think it’s becoming autonomous and feels happy that way. Just don’t tell Sadieruns...😳😱❤️

Ah...it’s mainly not Lycra you see Flick! I’m boring on the leggings front, but top layers are another matter altogether! (Still searching for the perfect winter layering system. I set off with my car boot full of different tops and decide at the start of the run!) Now if I did have cupboards full of bright pairs of Lycra leggings then I’d be blaming you entirely! 😂😂😂😍

No - I don’t care too much how I look, I just want to be the perfect temperature! 😊❤️

I sweat a lot, and get cold easily with having a wet base layer on my longer runs... I also carry a spare top on my long runs. I think it’s partly my hillwalking preparedness coming out too - daren’t leave home without taking precautions and carrying back up kit with me! 😂 😂😂

I think I may have to try harder MD. We have a huge space in our roof space, but a tiny wee trapdoor in the kitchen ceiling to access it. Last time I went up there, was to help put insulation in there, thought I was going to suffocate ugh! OH is very handy at DIY might have to try and talk him in to cutting a hole in the hall and putting the trapdoor there, then I could a whole ROOM for my gear! 😃

I had noticed she now has a show on Netflix, and as much as I think she is a nutter, I am tempted to watch it...I mean, she is clearly weird, but there is something in her philosophy that sings to my soul. I HATE CLUTTER. And you know, if I thought I could make a decent living out of it, I would pimp myself out as a declutterer (with a speciality in running attire and accoutrements). I tidied my running clothes drawer over Xmas, and then spent at least 4 minutes staring lovingly at how tidy it was, until my boyfriend dragged me away as he thought I had gone into some kind of bizarre Virgo trance over all the neatness. Happy new year to you, Lexi! xxx

Ever been watching TV, had to answer phone and when you come back you’ve missed all the best bits? That’s how I feel reading this over breakfast this morning. Seriously great reading, everyone’s posts. Happy New Year too Sadie-runs. My running drawer is seriously out of hand again, its a delight to open though, all those colours, its mesmerising, never thought I would ever have winter and summer running gear. 🤭

I’m not a fan of clutter either but OH adores it inside and out. Our detached double garage contains workbenches on two sides, 3 workhorses, tools hung from 3 walls, a pushbike, a weights machine (unused) a Mini (he’s going to do it up, 20 years waiting so far) his motorbike, our car, a treadle sewing machine (his late Auntie’s who passed away 2005) planks, timber and other things too numerous to mention. When I need the car, I have to shuffle sideways between Mini and our car and carefully open the door and squeeze in. Thank goodness for a reversing camera, can’t open the mirrors up until out of garage! HELP! 😱

Erm ... I’m avoiding this discussion. I tidied my leggings and capris two,days ago and they’ve disorganised themselves again with gay abandon. Sadie-runs , don’t look!

I have seen little clips of her show and they all seem quite adoring of her IJ. The biggest mystery for me, is how to fold a fitted sheet tidily?

I now have a plan, fold as best you can, then place both sheets inside the matching pillowcase (hides the mess) hey presto! tidy linen cupboard and no searching for matching sheets. Now if I could just apply that to the rest of my clutter. 🙂

Tip for pillowcases. Turn them inside out - makes it so easy when you then put the pillow in. Kind of draw the case back over the pillow - right side will be out, no trying to shove the pillow in evenly

And that's about the extent of my domestic wisdom
